Reading this thread I wouldn't say this is a fair interpretation of plinky's comments, if anything I feel like people are reading a moral judgement into his comments that he clearly didn't intend for.
In a good faith reading he's arguing what historical developments are most likely to weaken imperialism. You're correct that his take is very out of pocket lol but plinky is obviously a comrade
As with Woolverton's screenplay, several characters and plot elements were based on The Thief of Bagdad,[33][34] although the location of the film was changed from Baghdad to the fictional Arabian city of Agrabah due to the Gulf War.[35] Because the war prevented them from travelling to Baghdad for research, most of their research took place at the Saudi Arabian expo at the Los Angeles Convention Center.[36]
China is a distant third, but will be even within 5 years
So this is obviously false right, but is he referring to something specific, where is the 5 years coming from? It can't be about stockpiles, so is it about delivery mechanisms/early warning/second strike capability?
If you're dumb like me you might think this graph is of China's own gold holdings but it has nothing to do with that. This is apparently about China boosting their own exchange venue for gold and encouraging other central banks to store some of their gold in China
Seeing the children of Gaza celebrate even before the ceasefire is implemented warms the heart, the first joyful news since June. May Allah grant them lasting peace and relief.
What do the newsheads think about the timing of the deal, why did the enemy offer a ceasefire now? With American military buildup in the Middle East, security guarantees for Qatar, Saudi-Pakistani pact, are they going for Iran again? Trump offering ceasefire for Muslim states support against Iran, while offering action against Iran to get Israel on board. Saw this earlier:
Ali Akbar Velayati, advisor to the Iranian Supreme Leader:
The ceasefire in Gaza may be behind the collapse of ceasefires elsewhere.
Is there any substance to this? I know @MarmiteLover123@hexbear.net mentioned the current buildup is different (smaller) in scale/capabilities from the one earlier this year.
Afghan Media reports that information received from Taliban sources indicates that Khārji Noor Wali Mehsud, the leader of the TTP (Tehrik Taliban Pakistan), was killed in a drone strike on a cruiser in Kabul city tonight.
From what I remember Tutsis were the old elite under the colonial regime, after Hutu led decolonization many of them became refugees in neighbouring countries, they formed the RPF there, civil war broke out and a double genocide occurred. RPF won and now there's a Tutsi dominated government again. I don't know anything about the geopolitics though
You can see the other portraits here probably (Marshals of the Soviet Union from WW2)
I counted 17 pictures though so there would be three missing
