deegeese@sopuli.xyzto Programmer Humor@programming.dev•Why shouldn't you use YAML to store eye tracking data? /s24·23 hours agoIf you’re using a library to handle deserialization , the ugliness of the serial format doesn’t matter that much.
Just call yaml.load() and forget about it.

They see policies against plastic as elite contemptEnglish70·2 days agoOrthodox Jewish families managed to do just fine without plastic for thousands of years.
These ones think they need to destroy the environment instead of learning to wash.
Sorry, figured you were like that guy who keeps asking about Turkish land values and then deleting.
On lemmy.ml they’d be arguing that the zombie should be supported because a zombie apocalypse will destroy US imperialism.
Check their post history. Asked for help setting up some online club, got loads of helpful responses. Deleted the post but not their comments.
Wouldn’t be the first Lemmy leech I’ve seen who takes advice and then rips away the discussion.
Don’t delete this after getting responses like you did last time. That’s a real jerk move.
deegeese@sopuli.xyzto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•Should Lemmy support karma and account age requirements for posting in communities?10·4 days agoLemmy had Karma but got rid of it because it’s so gameable that its only uses are bad.
Poor doggies would probably have hip dysplasia.
Did you have any actual solution? Or just want to accuse others?
“Fix society’s problems”
You didn’t want to start with something more modest like world peace?

It’s called our own perception and biases.

The business was only viable because it could get people to break their backs for peanuts.

“Most Americans don’t want to do this work“ ( at the wages we want to pay)
deegeese@sopuli.xyzto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Do you ever revise your upvotes for a particular sub-thread/conversant when you get the sense they are either bad-faith or do not have sufficient knowledge to justify their participation or comments?6·6 days agoRarely.
Most likely reason is to upvote a contrarian reply to my own comment that I was too salty about to upvote in the moment.
I already have a pretty good sense of bad faith arguments, having been online for far too long.
deegeese@sopuli.xyzto Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Type of key? And how to get broken part out of lock?791·6 days agoUnlock the door and remove those screws holding the latch in the door.
Once you’ve removed the lock you should be able to disassemble it and push the stuck key out or worst case, replace the lock cylinder.
deegeese@sopuli.xyzto Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What holiday destination is the most concerning?91·7 days agoYour argument is shit. It’s basically “some tourists bad, therefore all tourism bad.”
Like how dare people want to see the world?
What text based serialization formats do enforce numeric precision?
AFAIK it’s always left up to the writer (serializer)
