  • It's generally not a faux pas to do some light trolling in our own comms, but it is to go and do it in their own space. Also, own your mistakes, don't blame others like that for you own actions and especially not when it looks like snitching as well. It's going to make it hard for m@tes to feel comfortable around you when they see you throwing others in front of the bus.

  • A.S Has a very itchy ban finger generally and often assumes everyone is as knowledgeable as them so they tend to see behavior like yours as deliberate trolling (or in your case, likely crypto-fascism). It's really the sort of place one needs to "lurk moar" before interacting. I personally don't like how hostile their instance treats people stumbling in, because it often causes drama and false positives like this, but OTOH this allows them to run a tight ship and not have to deal with cryptofash and libertarian shite which can be exhausting.

    Ultimately it is what it is and A.S has a tiny impact on the threadiverse relatively. Other than that I agree that it's not cool to label people fascists at the drop of a hat in the modlog but perhaps their admins will pop in and explain if they saw actual fash behaviour.

  • I can guarantee, the only reason this ceasefire happened is because Trump was deluded in thinking it would be that one magic trick to get a Nobel Peace Prize and therefore was the only thing that got him to finally strongarm Israel. If the genocide continues as soon as the Nobel winner is announced, I'd be certain.

  • The absolute shitshow that's been some of the most visible open source projects recently just reinforces my thoughts that one cannot establish trust (and therefore support) with any project leads unless they show their political affiliations upfront. The same way we demand to see a Foss license, we should expect to see what kind of person someone is before we use our community support to elevate them in any position of technical authority.
