I am 1000% in the camp of bethesda slopworks resenting Obsidian but i think the more boring answer is that the #1 Games salesman is not in control rather zenimax or microsoft or whoever that probably saps the creative flow out of BS’s projects before they even start
Elden Ring: Still not done, game too big. I am a Souls defender but while most parts of the game are stunning I can't help but feel the scope of the game is far too ambitious and there are too many reused enemies, interesting areas did not get the level-design they deserved, and the DLC bosses are simply unfun to learn bc of 1. Reuse and 2. fatigue, I just want the game to be over and also they keep flying away and have attacks that last what feels like 30 seconds before I can even respond after avoiding the damage. I just summon and co-op with my friend or strangers

Animal Well: Did not finish yet, really interesting game I enjoyed it tho incredible as a work of art and also fun to play
Satisfactory: also didn't finish, but a much chiller version of Factorio and also has a lot of mystery since it actually has a story and is in 3D
Deltarune: I loved undertale when it dropped but I did not touch it after 2015. DR is fun but I don't appreciate the episodic release schedule and while the art, music, and gags (visual and writing jokes) are top-notch the story doesn't hit for me and I feel like it's leaning on that. Would've preferred a complete, shorter game.
Slay the Spire: started playing again bc STS2 is supposed to come out. Incredible game, play it even if you don't like card games.
Dark Souls 1 and 3: i replayed 1 for the hell of it but I did a SL1 playthrough of 3. Very challenging, very rewarding
Did you skip DS2 because of the propaganda or just didn’t replay it this year? It’s the only game in the series that gives you a reason to play NG+ (and also keeps iterating in NG++, and so on)
No news to report besides an observation that “happy holidays” is now also being used in personal conversations when tidings are directed at someone who is 100% known to be celebrating neither hanukah or kwanza (me) i think i only noticed because tbh i’ve been forgetting to greet people with some kind of holiday based phrase anyway christmas hasn’t felt merry for a long time i only ever say happy holidays as a goodbye if i remember they’re happening didn’t we just have a bunch of religious holidays that spanned a month?
