That attitude had to piss Epstein off because his whole thing is networking powerful people to get more powerful people around to blackmail some of them to get access to more people to blackmail and Elon being all like "oh I don't care to go just to see some UN people and help you network and advance your agenda" had to push him towards the shit-list and the ghosting by Ghislaine we see in the later emails. Elon literally being entitled about the child abuse network and refusing to do the cover story stuff like all the others, just incredible energy.

When you're powerful you don't have to care. Privacy is for the powerless against the powerful. He was already in the mutual blackmail network, worrying about this would be silly. None of them had the clairvoyance to see the network getting folded up for whatever reason in this way and becoming a big public thing that gets disclosed and becomes a talking point that won't go away.
Title: (U) Lead Forwared to Legat Mexico City, Date: 10/09/2019 Mexico
Wait a second. Wait a second.
Is this more of that random tip bullshit anyone could call in?
We should be careful not to get drawn into random tips from what could be pranksters or even deliberate misdirection by Mossad/CIA/cabal of guilty Epstein affiliates. After all this is the stuff that's being released, they're withholding other stuff and probably destroying some of it so I wonder how much of this is false leads meant to eat up time and take people down rabbit holes of bullshit so they miss the real stuff (and look like cranks talking about stuff that ends up having no proof thus deboooonking the whole thing).
Reminder that anyone can submit tips and 'intelligence' and that part of how the Bush admin justified Iraq was grabbing raw, unvetted accounts from a professional Saddam hater in I think Germany without any analysis of whether it was true from the CIA attached and presenting it as proof. In other words the feds get a ton of bullshit, half truths, etc at the best of times for relatively mundane subjects that haven't totally captured the public and conspiracist imagination.
The author received information while assigned to a Bureau hotline concerning the JEFFREY EPSTEIN investigation
Bullshit strike 1
TURNER stated he has some type of Mexican "deputization"
Strike two. If it was actual law enforcement it wouldn't be phrased like that and they'd go through real LEO channels not calling a public hotline.
TURNER has remained in contact with the author on an infrequent basis and has yet to provide any evidence of his claims.
Strike 3. Fantasy. Exactly as true or false or credible as a post on 4chan.
According to the post in that bsky thread it was because he was a registered sex offender and NY passed a law to take people on their sex offender registry offline from as many services as possible. Microsoft complied and likely gave this boilerplate message because they didn't have a specific message for that though there is a screenshot of an alleged follow-up that specifically states it was for that reason.
Trump always does weekend attacks but I have a feeling that because this was leaked it'll come next weekend or the one after or a month later. Fact is you can't do very effective decapitation strikes on targets who know it's coming (unless you know where they run to I suppose in which case this leak could be the dogs trying to drive the fox where they want it) and they can go to ground for one weekend. The problem becomes for Iran if it doesn't come this weekend then do you go to ground next weekend? Do you go to ground the weekend after that? The smart thing to say would be yes, do that for the next 4 months if you have to but in practice they'll get sloppy about it, decide it's all bluster or that they need to work or live in the official compound and can't upend their lives and then the US will strike.
Really really really colossally arrogant to paint a target no themselves with the Spotify stuff. They claim their mission is freeing human knowledge and providing widespread access to it. Surely they should have known painting a bigger target and angering more huge, powerful, wealthy global industries is not the way to do that because it gets you taken down. The publishing industry has never had the power or interest in trying to take them down that the record industry does. This will make that knowledge that much less accessible to the public as their domains get taken, the pressure gets turned up and it becomes harder and slower to access anything they have for normal people as a result.
Not even a ban on (illegally) detaining them and holding them while declaring their legal documents to be fake and torturing them? Just a ban on kicking them out at the end of that process? Incredible.
Let's see:
- Women sometimes use men's restrooms (often after a male friend checks its empty) when the women's line is really long, these women can now be prosecuted and fined under this I assume.
- This will allow, even give license to men to follow any woman they in their opinion (or who they claim in their opinion if they see an attractive woman and want to bully/harass her with a convenient pretext) think is trans into the women's restroom. There they can confront them, demand "inspection" and violation on the spot, attempt to blackmail women including CIS women into sex acts or they'll report them as trans, etc, etc.
- How does this even work? Do they call the police and get their ID and they have to submit to a state approved sex check at a later date or something or else admit guilt? Are these people allowed to demand proof of it on the spot? Regardless of how it works predatory men will claim it allows them to inspect women's genitals if they suspect them of being trans. This will encourage belligerent, entitled men to invade women's spaces and make women feel incredibly unsafe to say nothing of almost certainly leading to sex crimes against women.
Just horrific.
Spy agencies typically used small cells to avoid one compromise destroying the whole network. Organizers should copy this with big broad directions from the top, broad basic cooperation across the group but specifics as much as possible localized to small in-person cells of less than 10 people who all know and trust each other (e.g. not randoms who claim to be interested in the cause who contact you online but people known to others in the group so if some known reactionary who was posting Trump memes all last year wants to join you say no).
That and not using something that requires phone numbers which leads to network mapping and graphs which is what the NSA and CIA targeting have always cared about more than message content. Signal is compromised by US intelligence in the sense at least that it gives them maps of who is talking to who and associates them with real numbers they can connect to real identities thanks to phone company cooperation. Message content may be safe from broad collection but infiltration is still a problem. Not any good off the shelf solutions that don't require hosting something or several somethings unfortunately that I'm aware of that aren't equally suspicious as signal.
Internet ID law in disguise. Soon there simply won't be any place to VPN --to-- that doesn't hit you with these demands.
I do. Fuck Nazis who will fight to the last man and child. You have to bring them to their knees. The soviets and western allies didn't level Berlin because they wanted to kill civilians, they leveled it because that's what it took to bring down that regime.
Fact is that electricity is used to keep drone shops running which are used to murder Russian service members and CIVILIANS. These people had their chance to counter-Maidan, to stop the Nazis, they went along for it, now they reap the whirlwind of pain, suffering, misery, and yes in some cases death. This is what happens when you let Nazis take control. Let it be a lesson. I don't celebrate the deaths of non-Nazi civilians who hate the Kiev regime but consideration for their suffering cannot outweigh the needs here to bring this monster down.
And let it be a lesson that Ukraine has been attacking civilian infrastructure with no dual use as well as dual use for years, the entire conflict. Water is perhaps the only thing in your list that one can argue is a problem to be attacking but for all I know it has strong dual-use purposes as well.
Fact is this kind of suffering is perhaps the only thing at this point that might mobilize enough popular discontent to get the Kiev regime to finally negotiate. What's the other alternative? The war drags on another 2-6 more years? More Ukrainian men are bussified and killed in the conflict against their wishes? More Russian civilians die in terror attacks by this regime? Once the people who have been comfortable supporting this war feel it hit home their support will start to wane and that's when you might finally get the pressure necessary to bring an end to the death.
So yes it's suffering. It's unfortunate but this may be what it takes to get Ukraine to collapse. Russia tried playing nice, they tried showing themselves to be a reserved, rights respecting, civilized army and after years of that, coming up on 4 years now it hasn't done a thing. The west is intent on using this country to the last Ukrainian, Trump and the Europeans refuse to let them end it. All they can do is either continue a slow, pointlessly slow grinding war that lets Ukraine replenish their forces, lets Ukrainian Nazis live a charmed life supporting the regime in the far west without the war touching them.
Fact is at Russia's current pace even if they manage a break-through in the far east and take the oblasts they legally incorporated years ago they'll still have an angry regime in Kiev and the west fighting them and refusing to cede ground. So the question is how to bring them to the table and get them to bend the knee.
This seems the lesser evil if it can result in mass unpopularity, unrest, and bringing the regime down or forcing it to the table. At the very least Russia could try to extract a ceasefire on their infrastructure (reminder Russia implemented such a ceasefire for a limited time last year and the Ukrainians repeatedly broke it and refused it).
If you'd asked me a year ago I would have said very probably next 10 years. Right now I really don't know.
US seems to be ducking an immediate fight with China in order to solidify its position and plunder the rest of the world. From Latin America to de-industrializing and looting Europe, and so on. If that goes well and no other major crisis hits the US it may be they plan to fight China in a more limited way next decade and that becoming a world war or it could be nothing happens and the US implodes. However I expect that as capitalism hits a real inflection point for crisis and there's no more easy targets left to loot (or China can't stand all their trade partners being invaded and toppled and intervenes to fight the US) that the US will turn to China but even there I'm not so sure.
I think in the nuclear age even American planners don't really want a war with another peer or near peer nuclear power. They much prefer economic weapons. They much prefer the idea of carefully isolating them, cutting them off from the world and using intrigue, hybrid-warfare, propaganda, and economic pressure to crack and destroy their enemies through forcing them to undertake blunders or color revolutions or simply "reformer" rot within e.g. Perestroika style stuff and corruption that gnaws away the foundations of solid rule and allows them to eventually be swept aside in one big moment a decade or two after that starts.
It still could happen. But a high-intensity direct conflict between peer powers involving the US/NATO seems at this point unlikely at least in this decade. In 2030s, 2040s, who can really say that far out given so much has yet to unfold and there are so many ways the situation in the US, China, Russia could change, so many different paths.
For one the US might be happy to let climate change do its dirty work. Trump plundering Europe and grabbing Greenland, Latin America, etc could be seen as part of building Climate Fortress America, something to retreat behind as the worst weather ramps up, as the refugee waves ramp up, etc. Basically the US planners given the US's incredibly good position may think that in 30 years climate change will have done incredible damage to China and leave only them and Russia with a few billion dead humans in Africa, Latin America, Middle East, and large parts of Asia and China forced to bunker down. The US able to in that situation strike out to plunder the devastated world and sustain itself or so their thinking would go. I tend to think something big is going to happen internally in the US. They're certainly desperate for an AI surveillance state because conditions will continue to deteriorate for workers in the imperial core.
More AI mistakes just means more nice NSA backdoors. And we love our NSA friends don't we?
On the one hand good. On the other hand problematic for China as they're already struggling to find enough gold to buy to replace their treasury/dollar holdings to insulate themselves.
Gold bugs continue to win.
AI coding going great.
Best hope is it's just a Trump grift and he gets to act the warlord getting tribute.
As it stands with Vietnam joining, all EU lapdogs presumed to join, ME countries joining the big question is whether India joins, whether Russia actually finally joins or not because China seems to want to prevent this.
If every other major power but China joins and Trump can bully a meaningful number of global south (Africa, LatAM, SEA) countries into joining then it's a very bad place to be for China given the likelihood of Trump trying to spin it into a parallel UN structure, give it legitimacy, yank legitimacy from the UN and use it to legitimize US sanctions and illegal behavior. Right now at the UN for whatever it's worth China and Russia have vetoes on the security council and there is a very clearly written set of international law the international powers all agreed to be bound by. They won't have it with this structure and as the US is undermining the world order set out and upheld more or less since WW2 (with big exceptions for the US that everyone just papered over while continuing to uphold it in name including the US so long as it got some free-bees) and seeking to replace it with the whole "(US) rules based order" which is nebulous, unwritten, ever-shifting, and of course not at all the compromise the international law order was with the USSR at the end of WW2.
Shows they're still committed to trying to uphold the UN or at least understand this type of venue is likely to be much worse for them.
Question is who can the US rope into it and who stays out?
Canada has been dis-invited, Russia seems to be holding back, probably not wanting to upset Trump to try and get a negotiated settlement in Ukraine (spoiler: they're going to have to make a decision or be seen as openly evading it by Trump long before the US is willing to wind down Ukraine). Question is where the rest fall. Do the EU fall over themselves as proud zionists to join this even though it likely deepens their vassalship? What about other players like Vietnam, Asian vassals like Japan and occupied Korea. Be interesting to see if the world outside of the usual worst suspects kind of just snubs it and pretends they don't want to touch or have ownership of the deepening phases of genocide they're still denying are happening. India's a big question.
Nu-Trek's purpose is the total obliteration and trashing of the only thing approaching a popular media franchise that depicts a positive communist post-scarcity future instead of grim-dark in space, space libertarianism, space America, space cyberpunk with evil corporations that give the dutch east India company a run for their money (e.g. Wayland-Yutani), or space rush for Africa colonizing and empire simulator. The fall of the Soviet Union and its consequences included Star Trek's fate.
Strong agree with the original reddit title energy.
Though also they should have been Marxists so that's one thing wrong I guess. That and allying too close with the reactionary Evangelical puritan movement so that's two things but still you have to understand where they were coming from.
