  • Probably the latter. It made things easy when I first started using nord but I quickly removed it and imported wireguard configs into network manager. If they add split tunneling, I'll start using it again.

  • I think it is just for the haptics alone. I can only compare it to the XB1 controller that I also have but the difference in haptics is worth paying for if that's important to you. I also think the build quality on the PS5 controllers are better. After the latest firmware update, you can now pair it to multiple devices and easily switch between them. The weak point is the battery.

Here in Toronto, there are a bunch of places that advertise fixing PS5 controllers and using hall effects replacements for around $25. I had my controller replaced under warranty for stick drift after 10 months. Now that it's out of warranty, I'll be using one of these services when (not if) it happens again.

  • Good point.

  • There was a video recently from either Level1Techs or GamersNexus about the recent intel event. In it, they mentioned one of the unforeseen outcomes of Microsoft forcing this upgrade cycle is increased adoption of Macs for corporate laptops. If Apple manages to make significant inroads in the office space, I doubt MS will try this again. Although. we are in the enshittification era and it's all about squeezing the customer instead of trying to keep or gain new ones.

  • I took a quick look and was shocked to see prices are at least double for used thinkcentres compared to what I usually see here in Canada. Why are they so expensive in Germany?

  • Also trying the flatpak version might be worth a shot.

    flatpak install flathub org.jellyfin.JellyfinServer

  • One person asked for this. It has been an obsession of Adams' (PCWorld) since he started sniffing the exhaust of steam decks. There was one vendor at CES selling scented thermal paste. I find the whole thing hilarious.

  • "Intel will continue to have GPU product offerings,”

The headline is misleading. GPU offering could refer to their integrated GPUs rather than discrete cards.

  • I bet he ends up walking a very fine line given who owns Comedy Central and looking out for the welfare of the Daily Show staff. I really thought it would take longer than 9 months for fascism to take root.

  • I was watching the fullnerd podcast and they mentioned that Linux seems to be a trending topic that is being picked up by the YouTube algorithm. I use Invidious so it's not something I would notice but I wonder if that's part of the reason we're seeing more newbie Linux content these days.

  • I've been on Neo Launcher ever since Nova was sold. It's FOSS and has the features you're looking for but not nearly what Nova had. Been happy with it all this time.

  • I was expecting it to be within the first few millions of years but the article says first fraction of a second. As a normie, this is brain-breaking stuff for me.

  • How much of all this tariff stuff is performative? With all the exclusions, that top line number will apply to very few actual goods. I don't think anyone is naive enough to believe Trump has anything against Russian interests.

  • Maybe. I don't know how to decide right/wrong for prices given how varied value judgments are. It's not for me but if I spent $$$ for a 5090, I'd be all over this cable in a heartbeat.

  • Seems inline with prices for this type of cable. Also, it's probably only useful for people buying $1000+ gpus.

    • "requirements are only applicable to users in China"
    • "restrictions will not apply to previous versions of ColorOS" (<16)
    • "unlocking the bootloader won’t void the phone’s warranty"

While not ideal, it's also not the end of the world.
