  • People will die, rather quickly, and that will be the end of it.

  • Although I am very, very sceptical about the value of LLMs in the programming context this is now a reality that we have to face. Looking the other way won't solve the issues surrounding the topic. I don't think a separate community is necessary or helpful.

  • Right next to the one million robotaxis and autonomous robots, I presume.

  • The thing is, I'd have given it a chance if I could play it on Linux. But alas, I can only watch from the sidelines.

  • And yet, the stock barely reacted. It's really a gamble on Elon's ability to keep the scam going and growing at this point. Wouldn't recommend for investors, would recommend for idiots.

  • Yeah, you see this a lot these days. Copilot has many good ideas about how components "should" work.

  • Yeah, C++ for a storefront? Why?

  • Being a team lead is not about using others to implement your vision. You'd be better off founding your own company.

  • That's what I do, too. I've also taken to call the "bubble" a scam, because that's what it really is.

  • From the Wikipedia page about elections in 1933 Germany:

The resources of big business and the state were thrown behind the Nazis' campaign to achieve saturation coverage all over Germany. Brownshirts and SS patrolled and marched menacingly through the streets of cities and towns. A "combination of terror, repression and propaganda was mobilized in every... community, large and small, across the land".[1]: 339  Irene von Goetz wrote, "In a decree issued on 17 February 1933, Göring ordered the Prussian police force to make unrestrained use of firearms in operations against political opponents (the so-called Schießerlass, or shooting decree)".[4]

To ensure a Nazi majority in the vote, Nazi organisations also "monitored" the vote process. In Prussia, 50,000 members of the SSSA and Der Stahlhelm were ordered to monitor the votes as so-called deputy sheriffs or auxiliary police (Hilfspolizei) in another decree by acting Interior Minister Hermann Göring.[4]

  • Holy... that was fast.

  • As a German I had to learn about German history and the workings of fascism in great detail. With that in mind the outlook for the US is grim. I personally would strongly consider leaving given the unfolding situation. Ask yourself whether you are prepared to live your life in a fully authoritarian US society, where there is only a very limited rule of law, power is largely unconstrained at every level and violence just a part of daily life. Are you the type to flourish in a system comparable to today's Russia? Because of you don't flourish, you will suffer, there will be no middle ground.

  • What are you referring to?

  • I wish the process of repatriating the gold would have been discreetly started already. Now, it might lead to a crisis straight away, since obviously Trump would not just let go of it.

  • Oof, pulling this stunt at this time for such a small reason was a bad idea. Expect orher countries to discreetly start moving deposits out of the US.

  • My expectation is that extrajudicial killings by ICE agents will become normalized within the next four months.

  • The American mind cannot comprehend how wicked sick Europe actually is.

  • "How did you go bankrupt?" - "Two ways, gradually and then suddenly."

  • Not great, not terrible. Won't go down as historic speech.
