jesus. there is no point to drastic moderation at all. 3-day individual bans implemented at the drop of a hat curbs bad behavior. after a year of those no one is 1) still causing problems or 2) even around.
anything more dramatic than this will cause people to exploit the sybil attack vulnerability of activitypub and you will never stop anyone.

most miners have calculated the rate for electricity to keep their rigs profitable and have automatic kill switches based on market prices. it’s not exactly news that rigs are turning off right now
I’m not anti-ai, but I do not ever want a bot to interrupt and talk to me or ask me for information. one of my irc channels has a couple of bots ranting from command-prompted to trigger prompted, to full llm and GOD DAMN no one asked for a bit to commentate on my participation. shut. the fuck. up.
I swear, I’m not a curmudgeon.
no. what? how? and like… why? and… just what, again?
can you just give a region of a country? I don’t want you to dox yourself but maybe others would reach out if there’s a chance

and we should oppose both of them

so let the fascists kill each other
the biggest thing I think you could do (other than dying) is quitting animal consumption,
I doubt it

right. and the azov battalion are committed fascists

I would not characterize what I do as trolling but I am called a troll so often that there must be some reason.
first, let me describe to you how I find conversations in which to engage. I always prefer to sort by new. not new posts, but new comments. if I’m going to say something I’d like to have a good chance of a person I’m saying it to still being logged in. of course you can’t just watch every new comment that comes into the fediverse. You’re going to have to sort those somehow. personally I have a few keywords that I like to search. I will search for “shill” or maybe “bad faith”. those two are usually a pretty good search term to help you find a contentious argument already happening.
if one of the users is acting egregiously it almost doesn’t matter which side I align with ideologically, I will often call people out for being uncivil. if it’s easy for me to discern within a few comments of the comment that I struck on that one of them is far ideologically misaligned with me and that person is on the receiving end of the incivility, I do sometimes turn a blind eye to that.
now this method is pretty good and finding active conversations that are just generally contentious. I also happen to know a few topics very well and I will search for keywords in those topics that I think I’ve got a pretty good conversation starter for or something that I think often gets overlooked or misrepresented that I can bring some more honest discussion to. if I start describing this I’m afraid that others will instantly recognize who I am and avoid using these keywords on these topics. that would suck. I quite enjoy engaging in this manner.
I guess AMA.
not my project. just something I found

I will say that I was recently accused of reporting an account of spreading misinformation by a different account that would/should have no idea about such a thing.
what does this have to do with this conversation? was it meant for someone else?

can you link to any proof of this? because i don’t see any reason to believe that.

On a social media platform that clearly learns far left, you still manage to have an incredibly unpopular opinion.
that doesnt make it wrong

what makes you think they have any alts?

is this project related to the global village construction set?
everyone should remember, first, they came for the communists.
