  • Sony Walkman NW-A55. It's a great, non-android device from a reputable brand. They make tons of versions, but they're not available in the US. I got mine off ebay and just changed the region with a simple program (just google, it's real easy). It has radio, a special section for language learning playback, and a ton of features for audio quality without being intrusive.

  • Obsidian. It's free, but you can pay for encrypted cloud syncing. It's awesome.

  • I don't know the price and since you're on a .de server I definitely can't say for sure, but check out the 3M screwplugs. They're like the foam earplugs you're used to but they're easy to put in/take out and they last a while.

  • I mean there's not too many other ways you could make a scrolling Wikipedia feed and it all sounds terrible. Wikipedia is at its best when feeding a rabbit hole via nested links to the concepts that underlie what you are already learning about.

This person is probably trying to build a portfolio of applications they can say they've made so they can get a job doing something useful. Smashing a new ui on old info is a relatively brainless way to do that, and doesn't require much critical thought.

  • The other answers are correct but I have not gotten cashapp to work. I use an old phone connected to my current phone via hotspot on the rare occasion I need cashapp.

I still recommend GrapheneOS regardless, almost everything else works with nothing more than minor tweaks. If you want something that "just works", you'll run into some hangups. Privacy unfortunately has a cost.
