  • After seeing a compilation video of Philomena Cunk telling stories or her mate Paul now every time I see that name in my mind I read "my mate Paul" with her voice.

  • It is an old joke that I thought was very well known, at least for people that know about emacs, my mistake, but hey, Luck 10.000 of you, so here it goes:

"Emacs is a great operating system, lacking only a decent text editor"

  • I love insta ramen. I really do, and you can do a lot of variations, and I am not saying stuff that is like cook a meal and add ramen. Just simples stuff that is extra delicious.

For example, if I like the seasoning I sometimes save extra seasoning packages to make it extra seasoned.

You can make it and drain most or all water, add seasoning and butter and that is it, awesome.

You can drain some or all water and add heavy cream or even just milk, butter and extra seasoning. I like this chicken of beef bouillon, but any seasoning that you like works, just need to be something that dissolves easily and you don't need to cook for a long time you extract flavor.

If you are feeling fancy you can add some hotdogs.

That is it, I love it and would eat more and pass on a lot of dishes for insta ramen but when I do people think I am only choosing ramen because I don't like the other options, like a last resort, but cound not be further than the true. I tell people I really like it and prefer it, but they have a hard time believing me.

  • That says something about you.... and me.

  • *And vim/nvim.

  • I am sorry? Are you suggesting that somehow an text editor has more functionality than a fucking OS?

  • Are we getting to a point that people think cyberpunk as the same as sci-fi? Because that is what this lists looks like. A lot of just sci-fi that is not even close to be cyberpunk.

  • I feel that people think about the high tech and forget about the low life.

  • Solid list OP. I didn't watch the peripheral, gonna check it out.

I know everyone recommended a bunch of movies, if you want my take, looking at the compilation list someone posted, from that list if I had to recommend just one cyberpunk movie it would be The original Ghost in the shell (1995)

And now I am questioning what cyberpunk is? I think I had a firm grasp on what it is but now I am not sure because I don't know if The matrix really checks that many boxes, there are no corporations and like poverty. There are people living in dare situations but it is more like in a post apocalypse way.

    Anyway, cheers o/

  • People keep saying that but you have to realize that laws are only enforceable or even a thing when the mechanisms in place and society wants to enforce it. There is a bunch of outdated laws that everyone kinda decides to not enforce it anymore. And here we have all the 3 powers that should keep each other in check all working together. Most of Congress (both the Senate and the House of representative), the courts and the executive branch all supporting the government agenda, and it is both on all levels of government, local, state and federal. And to make it worse, all the media corporations that sometimes work as a 4th power also support it and close to half the population also supports the government. So it does not matter if it is legal or not.

  • What is the first movie, only one I don't recognize?

By the way, in Hackers, a movie full of memorable characters and lines his character and energy still stand out.

  • Just for reference, because programming is not one big tent, as far as I know most people working professionally developing for the Linux kernel, gcc and glic uses only a text editor and "Unix as your IDE". I never tried myself but I have a feeling that any IDE with git integration would just immediately cry trying to interact with the kernel or gcc git repo. Even gits own PS1 status feature slows to crawl in this repos.

  • GRIS

I know that you said multiplayer, but if I can be one more voice on single player games that you guys may enjoy playing in turns I strongly recommend GRIS. It is so beautiful and I think it suits itself well for shorter play sessions.

  • Some of the hardest part in software development are testing, validation, code review, is so tedious, the majority of people don't like to do it so is hard to find qualified people and so on. This AI thing just put way more stress in the already dire part of the whole development.

  • Marion Cobretti approves this message

  • I feel like it falls to the same problem. They will see Ron Swanson, a tridimensional complex character and just flat it to the "cool macho" stuff and ignore his character growth and confuse aspects that are flaws but maybe charming or colorful to actual qualities.

  • Hey, I know this drug, it makes your snipe zoom more stable in Metal Gear Solid.

  • A lot of Keto "friendly" food have like 1g or 2g of carb, and a part from what you mentioned of the serving sized being unrealistic small, even if it wasn't, they add up, if you consume a variety of this during the day you gonna exceed the maximum carb really easily.

  • So, what you are saying is that you didn't see them being summoned, just that the despawn takes a couple of hours. That makes sense otherwise it would be too op.
