  • Does windows call it "Android file system"? Because as far as I know, Android usually uses EXT4, which is also what many Linux systems use by default. But it could also be corrupted filesystem or dying drive.

    Try booting into a Linux USB. Linux in general can in some cases be more forgiving with failing hard drives, whereas Explorer in Windows sometimes just freezes until it gets a response from the drive.

    If you can't see and mount the filesystem (preferably as read-only), take a look at tools like ddrescue (better than plain old dd with dying drives) and testdisk (to recover data from corrupted partitions). The "proper" procedure is to make a full disk image (or as much as it can read) and then try to recover the data from that disk image, so the potentially failing drive is used as little as possible.

  • I'm convinced the Gimp project's worst enemies are its own developers. They've refused to take UX seriously for decades.

    Meanwhile, the Blender team has given their GUI major revamps a couple times now, and it's both more popular and easier to use than ever before, while not pissing off old users much. It is possible to do.

    Of course, the Blender Foundation has much more money to work with, but I'm still convinced Gimp is holding themselves back in many ways.

    If you mean third party applications, then sure, you could use your computer without them.

  • Jeg har endelig udgivet en urskive til WearOS smartwatches på Play Store denne uge. Hold fast hvor er der meget bureaukrati i at udgive noget på Play Store, og Google's krav til closed testing før udgivelse er ret strenge (minimum 12 inviterede testere der aktivt bruger appen i minimum 14 dage - også hvis det bare eṙ en urskive lavet gennem det officielle Samsung Watch Face Designer). Og denne testing process skal jeg gennem for hver urskive jeg vil udgive.

    Men hey, der er nu 5 der har købt det, så jeg har tjent hele 29 kroner på 3 dage! 🥳💰
