  • These kinds of projects are basically always impressive, in particular on machines which predate the concept of protected memory. It is especially impressive on this machine.

For anyone who may not be familiar with the TI-99/4A, it is a strange beast. It competed with 8-bit micros like those from Commodore and Apple. On paper, the TI-99/4A looked more impressive because it has a 16-bit CPU, but the machine is effectively limited to 8 bits anyway due to supporting hardware and logic elsewhere. The weird design backfired, because it's ultimately a very slow machine and obviously less performant than those 8-bit machines against which it was meant to compete.

  • Newsom effectively wants the Dems to be less progressive. From my perspective, the Dems continue to lose because they continue to shaft their progressive constituents, of which there are many.

Things have shifted so far to the right in the US that mainline Dems would be considered conservative in many other countries of the world. The US does not have a left party, progressive or otherwise. If you accept this, then it's easy to suggest Newsom is just one other centrist masquerading as a leftist. His claims here support that view.

There are many, many other reasons not to like Newsom, but ultimately he is a symptom of a much deeper problem.

  • Something tells me the "double down" is to distract from that fallout

  • I care. Enough to abandon my qualms about AI usage? Not really, it just means GOG is not the answer.

  • "Stock market surges on news..."

    "Stock market tumbles due to..."

    "The Dow is over 9,000"

It doesn't matter when it's up. It doesn't matter when it's down. Imagine if media started reporting on the wellbeing of actual individuals instead of the fake money wheel.

The stock market will continue to have very little bearing on the lives of average citizens. Tariffs killing small businesses? Let's see those stories.

  • Pay your taxes or shut up.

  • I don't think "fuck directly with people's shit because you were handed an L" is a winning political strategy. Will it cost him? Hell no! We've never had a cult leader as president before.

  • It's like $120 billion right? 350 million folks in America, so if my math is right I should get..... $300-something bucks!

Maybe I'll invest it in some new food.

  • There's already a lot of MAGA people convinced that "activist judges" are acting against Trump just to act against Trump... You know, as opposed to ruling against him because he's breaking the law.

Nevermind all those other SCOTUS rulings handing the executive branch more power. Those don't matter. Clearly now it's stacked with activist judges.

I wonder if anyone from MAGA could actually define what "checks and balances" or "separation of powers" means.

  • This. AI is not and will not be profitable. It's afloat because of an investor circlejerk. Once they get off then it's over. A waiting game.

  • I always plug it during threeways.

  • Is it in mostly ALL CAPS and does it read like it was written by some kind of deranged ten year old who just discovered ChatGPT?

Those are written by the President of the United States. That's the timeline we're in.

THANK YOU FOR YOUR ATTENTION TO THIS MATTER!

  • Happy to hear they allowed the non-disposable domain. I understand both positions, but actually getting that last reply that they would allow it feels more unusual than it should be.

  • In a move that surprises no one and should enrage everyone.

  • Becoming

Ain't no time like the present to stop pretending damage isn't already being done constantly. Time for the mooch class to pay their share.

  • "We'll never be replaced my machines. We just do it better."

  • Having a ton of kids is virtuous -- if you think it is virtuous to maintain a larger labor pool to drive down wages for the next generation.

Most of this approach makes sense when you realize these ghouls are just addicted to money and business.

  • A new Star Trek game and a new Battlestar Galactica game????!! At around the same time???!!

    My geek is tingling

  • Musk is a hype man and a con man. Nothing more. A stupid man's idea of what a smart man looks and acts like.

The failed promises have not been surprising for a long time. What is surprising is how much money people still throw at the man.

  • Absoutely. It takes like 5 seconds to get a real photo.

But I have considerable downvotes on my original comment. Maybe bots. Maybe AI bros who need to see the light and that their tech is based on the death of IP law.
