@Sean Tilley have a Music Sales to the Fediverse website with #fraicamp and #hubzilla as proof of concept online since some time:

    ...

This pages are a demo site by allmendenetz.de for demonstrating how Faircamp - a static site generator for audio producers - and Hubzilla - a CMS for the Fediverse - can work together as one system to present music in a network like the Fediverse.

By the decentralized Fediverse network millions of attendees have the option to get in contact with you, follow and commend your music releases and read all your news without depending on a single network provider.

With Faircamp it is quid easy to generate beautiful looking webpages on your pc for presenting your audio files in the internet.

With Hubzilla audio producer get the option to host this webpages easy on the web and in the Fediverse so that also a combination with your personal network news channel can be easy realized. Also they get the option to distributed files with a fine graded permissions system of Hubzilla. So not every thing has to be public and e.g. special downloads can be granted just to selected contacts and also connect to the Hubzilla shop app.

In an ideal case an audio producer would install such a system under an own domain but also the option to host several artists under one hub URL may be interesting for some.

  • @P4ulinKbana if you are talking of a "platform" your are thinking thinks still form a central point of view.

    Think more decentral here

Think of e.g. a lot of connected woocommerce instances and you get an idea of how a decentralized open source market "platform" could work.

decentralized server wide search and login has to work - that's it

  • @ArondeusHere is an other on: have a look at hubzilla https://hubzilla.org

    • it runs on a raspi
    • has a good working cloud
    • can sync accounts
    • and you can share photos and all kind of other things to your fedi contacts

Hubzilla is not a specialist for photos but it has all the basic you need... the point is that you could also use the installation for more as for sharing photos

  • @poVoq Akkoma? i thought you found your home on Lemmy?

I saw your avatar years ago a lot in Hubzilla posts...

Akkoma and Hubzilla are different because of the permission system and all this other CMS functions.

  • @poVoq

those access permissions sort of federate to other Zot protocol using sites (but not the wider Fediverse),

there were improvements done in the last years... so with the OCAP function ( /settings/privacy ) and guest tokens ( /tokens ) we can share permissions for files across the Fediverse ... and even to people who do not have a Fedi Account jet

come back on board and have a closer look

  • @poVoq

Sure - Hubzilla has file-sharing functionality... but the files stay on your could....

The magic and real power of Hubzilla however is that you can share permission and access rights across Fedi Servers...

so even the files stay on your server you can "federate" access all over the Fediverse ... you can´t do that with Nextcloud

With Nextcloud you can share with an Email account holder - with Hubzilla you can share with an Fedi account holder

    @sabreW4K3

  • @sabreW4K3Maybe we can put is that way:Hubzilal is focused on social networking and has also a could storage

Nextcloud is focus on providing a cloud storage and has also social networking features...

you get it ? the focus ist different :-)

  • @sabreW4K3

Hubzilla and Nextcloud both offer features for managing contacts and calendars, but they cater to different needs:

Hubzilla focuses on social networking and doesn’t have built-in calendar or contact management features. However, some Hubzilla servers offer integrations with third-party calendar and contact apps.Nextcloud excels at personal cloud storage, including contacts and calendars. You can store your contact information and calendar events on your own server, giving you complete control and privacy over your data.

    NO

Hubzilla has a build calendar and has a contact management, also a personal cloud storage and gives you complete control and privacy over your data.
