@fubbernuckin Well yes, but those hours are called "learning". Learning must hurt, it's a change in the brain, that pain will change you, you want to be changed. You will not learn to figure things out if you just always reach for the robot at the sign of first trouble.
@envoy No additional "analysis" by some random guy on internet can change what the CEO wrote and did. I saw him admire trump. I saw him use company support account for his personal fight. This really needs something a bit stronger than an "analysis" to regain some trust.
@nasigoreng It does. It makes it visible. I mean look, we are talking about it. And people tolerating the regime, which needs their ignorance to function, yes, those people should not be enjoying the perks of the free world. The alternative is that we will host and greet the supporters of such regimes, and I don't think that's in any way effective.
@drivingcrooner sanctions work to stop undemocratic regimes. Those regimes are keeping their own people hostage, and I wish there was a way to save the anti-regime people without supporting the regime. But traveling to Crimea is not what anti-regime people do, so sanction that ass.
@TheOubliette@racketlauncher831 supporters and apologists of violence against innocent civilians should be punished, by any human. You don't think so? Do you support violence against innocent civilians?
@SomethingBlack You failed to put "debian" into google when you were wondering about what "debian" means, instead, you spent several comments and a lot of time demanding answers from other people. You are disrespecting everyone who might be able to help you. You'd know that, if you had read the links I posted, they explain it very well. And I don't think you are willing to change so.. bye bye
“Hey guys, I want to leave WhatsApp, should I go to Telegram or Signal?"
- you guys are NOT helping, that's still exactly the same problem. Just stay away from anything that isn't open source, decentralized, self-hostable, e2e encrypted (without rolling their own crypto). That basically leaves only Matrix or XMPP.
@EySkibidiBabBab Element? That's just one of the apps, and frankly, not the best one. You are looking for Matrix. For android I'd recommend FluffyChat, for desktop/web Cinny. For iOS I'd recommend throwing it to a lake.
"Hey guys, I want to leave X, should I go to Bluesky or Threads? What? Mastodon? Never heard of that. Looks very complicated, I'll pass" -- CEO, founder, IT wizz on LinkedIn
@fubbernuckin Right, so you only substitute "how to read documentation" and "how to talk to people on IRC", great...
