  • Give the AI restraints, like “Don’t tell me to kill myself as part of this stir-fry recipe.”

    Ouch

  • One hundred billion dollars worth of GPUs (and all the RAM they can hoard) hard at work, ladies and gentlemen. Of course Slopya Nadella needs more data centers.

  • Remember, folks, HR is there too protect the company, not you.

  • Same. I had to disclose every single investment and bank account, payment apps, and loan for myself, my wife, and any dependents like children or aging parents. All to avoid even a possibility of something looking like a conflict of interest. In the meantime the fucking president of the country can hawk meme coins, and pardon actual convicted fraudsters. I asked about that on one of those zoom calls, but was ignored for some reason.

  • I'd avoid cracking software. Every crack you download carries a nom-zero risk of infecting your PC with malware. I get your reluctance to switching to a different editing software, but it may be worth it.

I must've tried every free and paid photo editor out there, and none have feature parity with Lightroom Classic or Capture One. The thing most of them are missing is AI based tools like object masking, etc. Luminar Neo comes close, but I feel it's only a matter of time before they go sub-only too. There's a new free one called RapidRAW that has pitential.

  • Booking.com cancelled woman's $4K hotel reservation, then offered her same rooms for $17K

  • This is the way.

Same for airfare, car rentals, cruises, etc. Cut out the fucking middle man. The booking sites used to be a nice way for consolidating your travel plans. But as everything else, they've enshittified themselves to a point where using them has become a major gamble.

Use them to find a deal, then go directly to the source. You may pay slightly more, but the fewer agreements you have between you and the service provider, the less chance you have of getting fucked over.

  • 1,000x = KiloBullshit

    100,000x = MegaBullshit

    1,000,000x = GigaBullshit

  • I'm gonna object that! The little fuckers are too coddled these days.

  • I'd argue that it hits gen pop even harder than it does us techies. How many times is a grandma going to switch video calling and messaging apps before her grandkids install WhatsApp on her phone? Is ANYONE going to touch any console Google releases in the future after the Stadia fiasco?

We techies are more open to trying out new technology, but for the other 99% of population though, tinkering is a nuisance rather than fun. They have better things to do than looking for ways to migrate their stuff out of the next Google project that's being discontinued in 2 months.

  • It's probably too late. Does anyone these days really believe that these companies actually delete anything?

  • After that - dubbing in realtime.

  • they don't have the energy to be digital activists after they have finished a day of work.

Good news! With the rate corporations are laying off and firing workers, pretty soon they will have plenty of time for activism.

  • Pro-File Picture? I don't know, people abbreviate things in stupid ways.

  • I'm OK with letting websites not allowing me to block ads, as long as I can hold them personally liable for content of any ads they serve up.

No? Then kindly fuck right off with this shit.

  • At this point in absolutely convinced that in addition to the pee tapes, Putler has all the unredacted Epstein files with which he's blackmailing our Kiddie Fucker In-Chief.

  • No, it's that guy from Star Wars.

  • "You wouldn't download a train!"

  • When they say "supports" they really mean "was tested with".

  • If you didn't take prod down at least once in your career, are you even a developer?

  • Smart Homes @feddit.uk

Are Inovelli switches a good fit for old house with no neutral wire?

  • Programmer Humor @programming.dev

    X is just better!

  • Technology @beehaw.org

The smart(shit)ification of TVs pisses me off.
