Yeah, it is frustrating that the license is tied to the physical disc. Especially when they won’t send you a replacement for a damaged disc.
I personally buy, rip, and keep the physical discs of my collection which is now well over 1,000 titles. It’s a lot of work, and takes up a lot of space, but it’s also a hobby I enjoy. I’d much prefer if I could just buy a license for the film and watch it or store it however I want.
You know, this might actually be a decent application for NFTs.
Eh. A few more steps to rip the content, but not bad really.
Now UHD Blu-ray is a different story. There are a limited number of drives that could do it before their firmware was patched.
Good time to invest in a cocaine producer.
Pretty dangerous for a vampire to invest in a market that’s only open during the day.
y’know, it used to be that you paid money for things and there wasn’t even an ad option.
That’s why I like to check if someone has already rooted a purpose-built gadget before buying.
My RabbitAI will make a nice little MP3 player when the company folds.
I mean there are a ton of efficiencies to be gained with using communal resources.
Why can’t a bunch of people share a park rather than needing their own back yard?
Not saying it shouldn’t be an option, but the American obsession with detached housing at the cost of higher density housing is a major contributor to insane housing costs.
The problem is that the point of the app is to reduce food waste by selling extra food at a discount.
I think some of these people are just making more food intentionally so that they’ll have something for the app. There’s a perverse incentive where not having extra food at the end of the night means fewer customers.
The lost revenue on the discount sale of extra food can be less of a disincentive than gaining extra customers can be an incentive.
Used this a few times. Pizza place will give you a box full of left over slices for like $3.
Problem is, I think some businesses are using it to draw customers. I get asked occasionally “want anything else while you’re here?” and I worry that they’re making extra food just to give out on the app.
Figured someone would do it better than me. Thanks for the correction
For those who just wanna know: cards at the time performed math on brightness values assuming a linear brightness scale when it should be logarithmic.
Dude looks like a Rescue Hero.
Yeah, it’s a tough call to make. It’s like those car donation things. Like 90% of your car’s value goes to the company managing the sale, but that’s still 10% to the charity that they wouldn’t have anyway. Unless you want to deal with selling your own car, and giving the charity the money, it still does some good.
I suspect a $1M salary isn’t too insane for a CEO if they bring tangible value to the company. Also, with a lack of shareholders to answer to like in a publicly traded company, their motivations probably align with the cause they’re supporting. It’s not like they’re going to sell off a shitload of assets to bump stock price and escape with a golden parachute.
I’m missing something here…
My sister has one specifically to sell novelty foods at craft fairs.
Yeah though towns used to rule together to beat the shit out of bankers forclosing on widow’s homes, so that’s something we could start doing again.
