Imagine going from democratic government to a monarch like western puppet with foreign backing out of no where. Id imaging you would be pretty unhappy and would try to overthrow and hope something better would come along. Of course you don't know what's gonna fill that power vacuum but you are suffering NOW and want change NOW. Seems pretty logical.
Let's just not talk about how the US overthrew a democratically elected government and installed a puppet who was deeply unpopular and was later overthrown after a revolution which caused the current leader to be in power due to a power vacuum which then lead to deep sanctions from US and US allies so they've had to try and be self sufficient.
Robert Jordan's work is some of the easiest to translate to the screen because of how descriptive and long winded he is with world building. They took too many creative liberties in the wrong direction with that show.
IANAL but, just because they abandoned the game doesn't mean they don't own the IP. It's still their IP and unfortunately IP laws everywhere suck ass. IP law only works if you defend your IP. If you don't defend it then it can weaken IP protection on other IP you own. Even if you don't actively use the IP you still need to defend it to keep up protection on your other IP.
It's probably because your computer has quick boot turned on which isn't actually fully shut off. More like a deep hibernate which can still receive magic packets that can turning it on for updates and such. If it's a work laptop it's almost certainly because your work has set up so it wakes up when they push an update. It's more of an issue with how your work has set up group policies. You can turn off magic packets in advanced network settings if you have admin access to your computer, which you may not if it's a company laptop.
Except the picture of his tattoo in the article is an amorphous blob that looks like skull and bones. Seems like an easy mistake to make if you are not familiar with all the symbols Nazis use. To be fair Nazis use a lot of covert symbolism specifically to mask what they mean. Like the number 1488. You would have to be terminally online or be a.politics nerd to know that's a dog whistle. That's the whole purpose of Nazi symbolism. It's to coverly signal other Nazis that they are in good company. It is extremely easy to accidentally have something that's a Nazi symbol.
