I’m pretty skeptical about this- wouldn’t a 30m sphere be incredibly buoyant when empty? I get its concrete, but it’s displacing huge amounts of water. So you’d need some massive anchoring, maybe that’s not a big deal. Second, I don’t know what depths we’re talking about here, but I feel like the stress from cycling these things daily would be insane- in high pressure salt water no less. I also wonder what the efficiency of this system would be compared to other similar batteries, like pumped hydro storage. It seems to me pumping out water to near vacuum while under crushing outside water pressure would be a significant power hog.

3·6 days agoListen, AI is fucking up a whole lot of things, but this dude is having a genuine mental condition- if it was t a chat it, it would have been 4chan or truth social or foster earth YouTube that did it. He’s having a late onset schizophrenic episode or something.
Rational people don’t become irrational because a chat bot talked to them.

Serious question- what do you use instead? Memcached is rock solid but has only like 5% of Redis’ feature set.
646·8 days agothis headline is disingenuous. There are so many other things going on here:
- step dad and 2 much younger siblings. This kid was probably stressed out with new younger half sibs needing a lot of attention
- gun without a lock stored with ammo in an accessible place
- florida
- Christian prep school. Those kids either believe anything is real or are so hopelessly depressed they get into drugs
- parents are both lawyers. Talk about a high stress time consuming job that probably leaves little time for the three kids
But nah, it was just a chat bot that made a totally normal kid with no other risk factors off himself. They’re probably dying by the thousand right now right?

Yeah I’m familiar with server- I was asking if you were using official client apps or third party.
Is it called “jellyfin” like the server or is it another app?
Jellyfin have native apps that are any good? I use plex heavily on ps5, appleTV, iOS, and people’s random smart TVs, all of which have really good first class apps. I also support users that are not technically inclined, so they would need to be able to just install and app and log in.

Yeah but I wasn’t talking about grok- I was talking about the original claim of pushing lama more right- the right is full of think tanks that figure out creative ways to white wash and force religion into public schools and services. Regardless of what grok does, I don’t want any part of the right’s core “values”.
I’m talking about the principles the repubs seem to stand for.
Thanks for the insight, I’m not a mechanical engineer, I’m a software engineer :) The walls on these spheres have got to be pretty thick- 400 tonnes is no joke. 3/4 of a meter if I had to guess.
