  • What made you choose your Fediverse Instance?

  • I use them for different interfaces, different people and different things (I mostly comment/lurk on Lemmy, post random thoughts on Mastodon and post more art on Wafrn).

    I rarely see Mastodon posts on Lemmy and vice-versa, and this Wafrn instance has native BlueSky integration which I find interesting (I haven't actually enabled it on my account yet, so I can see but not interact with BlueSky posts).

  • Races in fiction are usually different species or breeds (as in dog breeds, I guess, not sure if that's the right term), not different skin colors. Like how humans have different skin colors but are all Homo sapiens still, so part of the same human race.

  • pawb.social because furries (kbin.social was discontinued i think so i had to leave there)

    moved my mastodon account to furry.engineer because it was run by the pawb.social team. also i'd never seen a .engineer domain before lol.

    and i have an account at waf.moe because i like how it looks and wafrn is different and cool. there's also custom css on profiles.

  • I'm brazilian, our official language is Portuguese, and Qwant is not available here either. It seems they don't understand that people can speak two or more languages? They could just put an "English-only results" warning, but ok.

    it has decent enough results and disables the unwanted AI features (I don't want to prompt an LLM whenever I search something)

    I am willing to switch to something else, right now DDG is good enough.

  • I'm not sure if recommending Helix Editor will help you or not, but the only hurdle with it is learning the slightly different (but more sane) keybinds, as configuration isn't required (there is no plugin system yet, but a lot is built-in the editor).

  • My Motorola phone was released in 2024 and has a headphone jack, so maybe it's just some of their models that don't have them. I just looked up a more recent 2025 model (Moto G 5G) and it also has a 3.5mm jack, so it looks like Motorola will keep having headphone jacks, hopefully this is the case as I don't like having to charge my headphones.

  • yay! i have a motorola phone hopefully i will be able to install grapheneOS on it some day. though for some stupid government/banking apps i'll probably need a secondary, crappier phone with the usual spyware on it. i really hope that they make grapheneOS available for already purchased Motorola phones.

    edit: from what i see it looks like it's probably gonna be for newer devices, and that is very sad, as i'm only gonna buy a new phone in like 3 to 4 years. Anyway, at least motorola has pretty good hardware and ok prices. Wait, do newer motorola phones come with a headphone jack? my Moto G55 has a headphone jack.

    What do you mean I woke up at 05:59? Have I been counting without knowing it??

    The weird thing is that if I don't set the alarm, I'll wake up 30 or so minutes after it would've went off... So I usually set alarms and stop them before they go off.

    Participants were given 16 images and asked to consider walking alone through the place in the picture. Using the Qualtrics heat map tool, they were instructed to imagine themselves walking through these areas and to click on the area(s) of the image that stood out to the most to them.

    Also, even if it was done with some type of eye tracking glasses, if you knew you were taking part in a study, would you be worried about what might happen, in comparison to how worried you are normally? Like I'm not gonna be worried about someone sneaking up on me if I know I'm being observed and more likely to be safe, so naturally I'd be more relaxed. I imagine the same applies for other people.
