  • Sunvox is a masterpiece. Perfect for small size audio. It's strange that it isn't more widely used in game development or even webpages. Not just because of small sizes, but because it's also possible to interact with the music, while it's being generated. I have no idea of how to classify this as a piece of software but it's mind boggling powerfull and it still runs perfectly on any potato.

    It would be nice to have better recording options than using the sampler, but I guess that defies the purpose of it.

  • Det er en fødevarecheck, som skal forstille at hjælpe med at modstå de stigende fødevarepriser. Fødevarerne er steget med ca. dobbelt så meget som de øvrige poster i forbrugerindekset.

    2500 er ikke meget, hvis man ikke kan betale sin husleje, men det er et ganske pænt tilskud til et madbudget.

    Det svarer til 208 kr om måneden. Hvis man lever fattigt, laver mad selv, eller bare er en nærigrøv som mig, så svarer det måske til 10%.

    Jeg er enig i at det ville være enklere at justere på eksisterende ydelser, og på den måde give til dem som allerede har kvalificeret sig til økonomisk assistance, men det vil også ramme skævt. Fødevareprisere er jo steget for alle. Det rammer også dem som ikke i forvejen får boligstøtte, dagpenge eller andet. Det er dem (mig selv inklusiv) som ville udgøre et tudekor, hvis ikke også de får noget hjælp, når de er ramt af nøjagtigt det sam problem: Fødevarepriserne.

    Igen, en lavere grundskat ville ramme bedre, for så ville direktørfruerne ikke have fået, eftersom de ikke har en indtægt at beskatte.

  • Jeg synes egentlig at en bred fordeling er OK. Så slipper vi for at høre tudekoret "som aldrig får noget".

    Beløbets størrelse er også OK. Der betyder måske intet for de fleste, men meget for dem som har få. Det svarer vel ca. til en pakke oksekød om ugen, så det er da bestemt en hjælp i et fødevarebudget, for dem som mangler.

    Jeg synes at et engangsbeløb er en forkert strategi. Fødevarepriserne kommer jo aldrig til at falde.

    Differentieret moms kan måske gøre noget, men jeg tror desværre det ender med at blive en "overførselsindkomst" til købmanden, for fødevarepriserne falder ikke. En agurk koster en 10'er uanset hvad momsen er.

    Det havde været bedre med en lavere grundskat for lavtlønnede. Så slap man også helt for at fordele pengene (forkert).

  • I think working time is the wrong place for politicians to regulate.

    Sure, there's a huge imbalance. Some people work a lot and some very little.

    The key is that the the people who do work more than mandatory minimum hours, are also the people who enjoy working. Self employed or not, doesn't matter. If people like working, they'll work more. It's really that simple.

    Politicians ought to focus on regulation of how enjoyable work is. Then the working time would increase by itself, if that's the ultimate goal for whatever reason.

    I don't think it is though. Productivity ought to be the end goal.

  • I play all the rock instruments and then some. I never got along with fretless strings or horns, because they require much more practice.

    My main interests are in theory, composing and synthesizers, so I like instruments that are playable from a logic approach rather than muscle memory.

    I'm still pretty technically decent with guitars and the djembe. Maybe blues harp too.

    If I were to join a band, it'd probably be on bass though.

  • My daughter's school did something similar. It was a project about future city development, where groups of kids could create their own visions of what the harbour in the city should be like.

    Some went sciency and made robotic models and programmed led-strips and such, but most just painted the sides of cardboard boxes as a restaurant and printed a menu card, focusing on the business aspects.

    The school then invited parents and the city council to come see the presentations and to vote on the best project.

    They did all the work in school hours, so it's not like the parents could assist if they wanted to. Of course some kids could potentially ask their parents for funding for expensive robots but I don't think anyone did or what the point would be. It wasn't a graded project and the winners got a bag of candy, so it's hardly worth cheating for.
