  • Bingo

  • Yeah, but those things are not weapons-grade plutonium, either.

  • Republican Sens. Susan Collins, Lisa Murkowski, Thom Tillis, Mitch McConnell and Rand Paul joined Democrats to vote in favor.

  • DARPA doesn't build the real thing, they fund the building of the real thing, it's their MO. The robot dogs and bipeds and quadcopter drones that Boston Dynamics and Anduril and other companies have been building are the frontier and DARPA is one financier amongst a sea of others. The Ellisons just bought our military, apparently, or at least purchased a $130M stake in it, to illustrate a point that we're fucked even if the robots don't end up being the most efficient way to do the deed.

  • That's not how strikes work, and it cannot be allowed to become the way the ruling class expects to negotiate.

  • A doubling is still a big deal, though. You made a difference! Imagine if that were to keep up throughout the neighborhood.

  • Like if we could rip open our chest to show our heart on command as often as we want.

Here is a horror you might not have known about that your comment made me recall: The Cannulated Cow. Your chest idea seems plausible next to the holey cows and I don't like it one bit.

  • Filter out? Certainly not.

  • I'd assume this is going to get approved

  • Those are mostly alright, very bribable, and will take our undesirables for labor or whatever-the-fuck. The big ones, they want to be the big kahuna. The little ones, you can't trust; they'll turn on ya for short money.

...this started as a joke of a shitpost and ended feeling a little too plausible to serve that purpose, so, uh, hmm

  • Oops! All Jason Bourne!

  • They're trying to stop MAHA...

    Yay!

...from doing the only beneficial tasks they had planned

    Oh. Of course.

  • Nerd reddit

  • Why does Obama keep doing this to us?

  • They say he's crazy, but he has a good time!

  • I hope this leads to a productive round of discovery

  • OP called it a flock, so not obvious to all seemingly?

  • A flock of crows is called a murder

  • Looks like it has an inertial sensor to control the view, here's there relevant bit from the article:

The parts he purchased online include two displays that max out at 2880×1440p and 90 Hz refresh rate, two lenses, an IMU (Inertial Measurement Unit) sensor, and an Arduino microcontroller board. The other parts of the headset were 3D-printed....The headset features individually adjustable IPD, interchangeable faceplates, and head tracking. But it does have downsides — at full resolution, it only runs at 60 Hz. Also, it only has three degrees of freedom (3DoF), which means it tracks looking up and down, left and right, and tilting the head left and right. He explained he didn't bother equipping it with 6DoF as 3DoF was enough for his sim racing.
