  • Torvalds literally had to take a hiatus because of how toxic he'd gotten. Luckily he didn't deny it when it was brought to his attention and he's gotten better now.

  • No, having a literal history of cheating is just inexcusable, regardless of gender. Break up if it's a shitty relationship, or just don't get in a monogamous relationship in the first place. It's 2026, open relationships are a thing, or you can be single and fuck as many people as you want, etc. It's the lying and doing it behind your trusting partner's back that's the problem, not the polygamy.

And if you want an open relationship and your potential future partner doesn't... Well maybe find someone who shares your views instead of cheating on someone who doesn't?

  • Each Valve employee also makes about what 10 GameStop employees do, salaries at Valve are often mid to high 6 digits.

Which is not to say that GameStop is cheap to run, but hey, neither is Steam.

  • Battle.net, with the feature to run partially-downloaded games and stream missing assets in on demand.

This one is actually a game changer if you play WoW for a bit every few years lol

Game's like 100 gigs by now, but you can get started after just a few gigabytes downloaded. Like 5 minutes on even my mediocre 150 mbps downlink.

In contrast, it used to take me several hours to get into it on a slower connection before this feature.

  • Ah yes, Saudi EAco. Because they weren't scummy enough already.

  • Good on you guys for having balls. Here in Estonia we can't even move off fucking Microsoft Teams in government services because they're all too busy sucking American cock (I mean the decisionmakers, not regular employees lol), I can't imagine we'd ever do anything to upset Trump at this point.

  • But KDE is and it has Kdenlive and Krita, in case you still want to give a fuck you to Adobe :) Don't think you can give just to those two projects though, you can give to KDE and they distribute it among projects as needed

  • Organic Maps is a bit iffy.

It's registered here in Estonia. Neat, a trustworthy European country, right?! Nah, we allow people from all over the world to register companies. The people behind Organic Maps are one Russian and one Belorussian individual.

Their LLC hasn't exactly been making a lot of money from donations either it seems, so who knows how they're actually making their money. They have to be making money somehow, right? My guess is that it's not as privacy-focused as one may think. The source code available on GitHub is one thing, but who knows if that's what they actually upload to Play Store and App Store? But then again, this is just speculation, it's not like I've inspected the packets or anything.

  • Ah tbh I just realised that with the tokens being unique you could still limit accounts per token to 1, achieving the same effect as using real ID.

  • Yes, Apple notoriously invented it for the Android Debug Bridge too.

  • Because then you can share the token and everyone can use it

I'm sure a more robust solution is possible though.

  • Evaporative cooling. They're trying to save on their electric bills by not using AC. Or sometimes they're cooling the AC condensers themselves this way.

The amount of heat generated is so large they can't properly cool it with a closed loop system.

  • That counts as usage, they'll use it to convince investors.

  • LLMs can already use way more I believe, they don't really run them on a single one of these things.

The HBM4 would likely be great for speed though.

  • They should be allowed to invest in broad index funds. Shit that goes up when the economy is good and down when it's bad.

    And maybe gvt bonds.

  • I've been fishing (well, drinking) with people who were trying to catch eel. Usually very rare to get any for casual fishers.

Ridiculously good tasting fish when smoked though. But it's like a treat to get very rarely because of how expensive it is vs how little you get.

Never tried baby eel though. We have minimum size limits in place for catching fish here and most people have the good sense to obey them

  • Don't American companies give a loooot of people director or executive director titles just because it sounds impressive? In roles where you gotta talk to corporate customers at least

  • I've had sex take away lower back pain for several hours though I'm not too sure if it's the sex itself or the physical movement

  • In a decade? Eels were already hard to find a decade ago. At least where I live.

  • Mental Health @lemmy.world

Anyone with SAD: Have you tried a dawn simulator (or sunrise alarm as I think they're also called)?

    Locked

I don't have to be trans to appreciate good news!

  • Mechanical Keyboards @lemmy.ml

Anyone got experience with Ducky keyboards?
