  • Do you already know what type of software you'd wanna use for the blog? Some kind of federated blog i assume? I am playing around with wordpress again, i think it's pretty good for a non-techie person like me, i like it.

  • The gamify / social aspect i am personally also not interested in, but the "tracks issue" :)

    For example the torino-nice-rallye route is hosted there. Lots of other tracks too that i have been interested in, researching potential routes. Now if i am interested in the track for reference, but don't want to sign up, i'd have to trace the track. They are not necessarily marked routes on OSM.

    That is crazy, in my bubble seems like almost everybody's using it, they were sponsoring so many events, podcasts what have you. Komoot everywhere, so annoying (since you can't get to "usable" tracks unless you sign up). RWGPS seems to have made tracks non downloadable for "strangers" now too recently.

  • Yeah i also do it only locally, although i got to say this wanderer.to thing looks pretty interesting. There is an instance on tchncs.de, i'm thinking about signing up there, just to have a look. Would be cool if that was also compatible with wordpress or ghost, to add the tracks from a blog into the wanderer sphere, maybe it is already possible, i don't know.

    You were just now quoting a bunch of harmless comments of mine that made you jump in to an unrelated topic, a month later, trying to discredit the actual point i was making by having a go at my character. But yeah, i gave you certainly too much credit thinking there was any point having a conversation with you.

    Your first quote is just ridiculous to quote in the first place.

    The third quote is a truthful answer to a question why i wanted to delete my account. The second quote is a comment i made right after that, so that sentence was still on my mind, the full quote would include the words other users in this topic had called lemmy.world users like myself: "dimwits/homophobes/transphobes/racists" . Yes, i was disappointed in the discourse in that topic. Wasn't just me, other people were also wondering why people were going off the rails there . I had been off of lemmy for a couple months when i made the post, but i had received an email from mrkaplan that day that put the topic my radar.

    So that is enough for you to go after me in unrelated topics (whose basic message you claim to support now btw), to warn other people of me and my opinions?

    For the "aggression"* - I stand by that, seems warranted to me, seems a lot more harmless than trying to destroy other peoples communities. Is that all the dirt you got on me?

    I am now not cycling through the instances to see where the deletion of my PSA comments did not federate, but i know that i did not say what you claimed i said there, i remember i have said something along the lines of "this place seems to have gotten worse while i was gone", that is the only thing i can think of. Anyway, just seeing you entering the sopuli topic with the goal to just discredit me and gloss over the points i'm making is enough for me really. Take the 7-day-old-account shtick, you knew full well i was not new.

Something like how i would be someone who is against lemmy and shitting on the project as a whole, you were also linking that post that you linked here again as "proof", funnily you also posted that one somewhere here in this topic for "context". What context? I don't get what you find offensive about that post.

    And yes, i thought (still think) you and the other people coming into that topic with your "lemmy world is trash" takes was besides the point and dumb as hell. And it was like the first three out of four replies with that take (i guess shitting on world was more in fashion than it currently is), that annoyed me, so i replied to that. I have no problem being accountable for my past behaviour, i don't think i misbehaved, i never got banned anywhere, never got a post or comment removed. Wait, i got a post removed from android@lemdroid, because i was asking a support question or something.

    And that one non applause comment of yours is being followed with reasons why the reposting should continue, https://mander.xyz/post/32516449/20320288 also reads a lot like you saying the reposting by "no-bot busy-hands" must go on.

    So first you tried to discredit me with the 7 day old account shtick, then minutes later edit in the rest, knowing full well i was not a new user. I even mention and link to my old username in the PSA, you can still look at them since the deletion did not federate properly, so no attempt at conceiling my "horrible past behaviour".

  • Probably was just your rim / brake pad mix. I remember had a screeching bike like this too when i was young, but on my current bike with v brakes it does not screech.

    If i would buy new, i probably would want to go for disc brakes, not that there'd be much other choice, haha. But i feel people have a warped view on v-brakes, i have no real complaints. Super simple mechanics. Big alpine passes, loaded bike, in the rain.. the stuff that people tell you is impossible is in my lived reality no problem at all. And holy shit do brake pads last a long time on those. I still like v-brakes, certainly not something that makes me want to buy a new bike.
