  • I am just pissed that my bluetooth earbuds at work, ever since upgrading to Win10 (I think? Been a while ago), have issues with their microphones.

If I join a meeting every few minutes audio quality turns robotic, sounds like a very low quality phone call. The only solution is before I join a meeting and almost every time I connect my earbuds, to deselect the microphone on them and instead use the laptop microphone. Which you cannot do "on the fly" while in a meeting, because then you of course just lose all sound immediately.

So it is either being ok with sound quality going down every few minutes, making it difficult to hear people, or dropping in and out of the meeting akwardly to correct this, should I forget this before the meeting.

They worked fine pre-Win10. They still work fine on any other non-Windows device I use. There is absolutely no reason to justify this but somehow it does not get fixed.

  • Hm, special military operation anyone?

  • Trunp really did see all those god emporer memes.

  • Honestly. I agree, but... who is actually driving 50? It seems like "everyone" is rather driving 55 or even more. So locking a vehicle at 50 won't really stop them from blocking faster vehicles.

  • Dang, I need to read up on that. Got a case like that in my own family and thought they'd have to give up their German citizenship.

  • Yeah, I mean the one thing Motorola always shit the bed on and I think even more so recently, is providing software updates. It makes sense for them to essentially outsource that and have GrapheneOS do the heavy lifting. It just sounds all too good to be true, lets see once the first phone comes out.

  • You know, I actually love reading this. People complain a lot about how complicated the fediverse/lemmy/whatever is and they cannot even sign up, yada yada. And yet here you are, not giving a damn about it all and still you manages to make an account and you are here. Kudos to you!

  • Wh..wha....what. This is actually the headline.

  • lmao, even

  • A "foreign power" mmmmh, which one could it be, out of everyone, so many choices, my oh my...

  • When I recently played I found selling off fossils you found can get some decent money in too. But you need the museum and have them identified, or maybe that worked before the museum too? Cannot remember.

  • Lmao, shady behaviour aside, is there a more perfect name for a professor? It's German and could translate to something like "the learner" (from "lernen" - "to learn").

Edit: actually more old-fashioned German would be in the direction of "the educated" as in an educated person.

  • We all know it is the cats bed now.

  • Oh man, that part of the immune system development is probably my favourite. Specifically how in the world the body is able to detect theoretically basically anything that can exist.

This is probably going too deep but you can read a bit on wikipedia if you are interested: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/V(D)J_recombination

And to pivot back what you asked, the part where the immune system can detect anything that exists would of course be bad if it detects your own body too, since it attacks what it can detect.

So theres like a training camp for immune cells where they are tested if they can detect your own body's cells. And if they can, they are killed off. Therefore anything that is left can distinguish between what is good (you) and what is bad (other stuff).

There's lots of other mechanisms around that though, otherwise allergies or intolerances wouldn't exist, of course.

  • Hmmm, human posting? I like it.

  • Wtf is organic posting.

  • They recently (end of last year) released a redesigned version. That is the one I got because I read about the issues you described beforehand. So I hope they learned from those, I will see...
