anyway my current washer & dryer are pretty good but ive had ones in the past that would have different behaviors like this…unlocking is always one of the more frustrating ones. A previous washing machine would also display a unitless number that counted down until it was done. It didn’t seem to be time based because 18 didn’t mean 18 minutes, it meant 18 more numbers until it was done.

this seems like an important detail. Digging into this a bit it seems like the issue is contractors will ask homeowners to assign the insurance benefits to them for some repair and the insurance companies are claiming the contractors are overbilling and then suing when the insurance company denies the claim. a bit of a “let them fight” situation but i guess Florida’s government picked a side.

you know how nice it is to be able to walk like 5 minutes to a grocery store? You don’t have to roll over to Costco once a week to buy $300 in groceries that need to be stored in two refrigerators. You just walk over to the store and buy some things for a day or two and if you forget something it’s no big deal, it’s a 5 minute walk!

Anyway I completely and uncritically believe this because getting in your car to do literally anything sucks ass. Just owning a car sucks ass. Yeah there are fun parts of having a car but you can rent a car to do the fun things and it’s probably net cheaper.
