  • They probably already know.

But I hope that it's his team that has this power, not just solely on him. I'd have to imagine (HOPE) that there's a chain of command and some kind of playbook that whoever is in charge can authorise and act on whatever needs doing in such situations.

  • "Yes, but I'll be quick, I promise."

    Isn't quick.

  • The meal planning app that I use got bought out by Samsung and they did this. Put a load of ads in and then advertised a "+" version that got rid of ads. The ads were just advertising the "+" feature. 12 months later they said they were going to remove the ads for everyone.

  • I do like the idea of permits. Landlords must have a permit per property within a local authority (LA) and reject applications if they see fit, such as having too many permits already or blacklisted. The LA should be free to set whatever cost they want per permit. Tennants can raise issues in a centralised portal where the landlord can view them and resolve them, and if they're not actioned upon or done properly the LA can intervene and start charging additional fines, or failure to deal with serious issues like mould could see the LA taking possession of the property.

The LA set the rental price so landlords don't just wack up rent prices.

This might provide some income for cash strapped councils without having to purchase their own housing stock and managing it.

There could even be some funds available for well rated landlords that have to use the money to improve properties as an incentive to be proactive in their repairs etc.

  • I dunno what client you're using but voyager lets you filter posts by keywords.

  • Yeah exactly, that's what I mean.

    • Spending a day or more every quarter/half sorting out your roadmap, prioritising stakeholder needs, tech debt and enhancements
    • Someone from senior leadership decides they want random thing they invented and blows the roadmap up
    • Much wanted feature (X) or issue gets pushed back
    • CEO makes a comment in a company wide meeting how they can't understand why we simply can't do X thing yet
    • Everyone in Product scrambles to make X a priority
    • Go to step 1
  • If this keeps happening then there's a failure in training or information to station staff, I can't imagine they're making this up out of nowhere.

Also, this is a really nice site - no bullshit cookie banner, no newsletter dialog, clean, easy to read site.

  • This only affects sugary drinks, so their Zero and diet options should be exempt. Although a book I read recently was showing evidence that artificial sweeteners can also drive obesity, so we might start seeing things affecting those drinks too.

  • They can drink as much as they like. There's nothing stopping someone buying another drink.

Obesity is a huge public health concern that should be treated seriously and we should be steering our culture into making better health decisions.

  • Don't blame the printing business, own your fucking mistake. If politicians can't even own insificant mistakes like this then they're obviously not going to hold their hands up when they inventively fuck something up more critical.

  • You can have free refills your beer but not your alcohol free beer lol

  • thecanary is not a reliable news site. They're effectively the daily mail of the left.

  • downs tools

  • People are allowed to do things during the day.

  • Oh c'mon, he's no where near that bad.

  • When I was traveling around eastern Europe years ago, I kept making the mistake of getting sparkling water when I would ask for a bottle of water as that would be the default choice. Sometimes they'd ask "with gas?" but they didn't always ask, and I'm too stupid to learn from my mistakes.

  • Same lol. I do this so much.

  • What does this even mean?
