  • Maybe it is time to switch to communities built not around cars?

Maybe we could have 4 days weeks and more work-at-home to save gas?

  • Cause we have actual nutrition lessons in school

  • Faster, lighter, stronger.

I still can use a 15yo laptop for daily tasks, still boot in less than 20s (with ssd).

No surprises, I remember having stuff unremovable, like google toolbar, and no forced reboot when you are still working (they fixed this issue).

Software management is way faster : you don't have to download a zip, unzip, hit the .exe, then accept a fuckload of agreements.

  • When oil prices went up in 2022, I cried for ukrainian kids but hoped it would be an electrochoc to build a post oil&gas world.

It is not happening fast enough.

  • Coal is cheap and easily available, I'm not surprised it is still one of the main source of energy

  • Maybe distracted driving should be made criminal offense first, and controls on drivers increased.

2 days ago a car driver in front of me was watching a skiing contest on his phone on the dashboard, last year I followed one who was playing candy crush.

I'm glad my daily commute is 80% on bike paths separated from car traffic, those 20% are why my kids can't go to school with their bikes and my wife does not take her bike.

  • YSK: Arte.tv, the European culture channel has free shows, documentaries and concerts.

    Jump
  • Newcomers on arte, look for Tracks, some are really fun

  • their infrastructure needs fall under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Transportation, which has been slow to act.

    Same issue everywhere.

The local authorities could create/extend a network of forest paths for pedestrians tho

  • Nope, car drivers are the same everywhere, "don't touch my car cause it is an extension of my dick".

If they don't pull a gun, they would try to hit you.

If you dress like a cop there would maybe have more thinking

  • Not only defense unfortunately, bribery is how business works, as seen in corruptions scandals in construction, healthcare, waste management, IT with microsoft, and so on...

  • Why use a cable ? Wifi with warpinator is fast enough

  • I'm 100% for light electric vehicles.

Golf cart is for the lol but it really checks all cases and for now all LEV are no more than fancy expensive golf carts, see Citroen Ami or la Bagnole.

Really hope to see more of those things riding the streets. Maybe in the future, cars will be banned from cities and let in the large open spaces where it belongs (where trains can't go), and those LEV will complete the offer for inner city transportation in the form of short time rentals, like scooters and bikes do currently.

  • The topic here is public transportation, but look at how many behave on the roads with their personnal cars, ready to cause accidents just to not be slowed

  • I say YES!

    GOLF CARTS FOR EVERYONE !!!

Cheap, light, small, no computer, natural airflow, what else?

  • I did not watch the video but suburbs accessibility is a global issue that needs real politic implication (I mean money) to be solved.

Here, 15km from a medium euro city, an express and affordable bus line arrived only last year thanks to a global metropolitan project. Before that there was only an overpriced line that was pretty far from many districts, it was faster and more convenient to go by bike, that's how I realised 15km is 20 min by car (without congestion), 40 by bike, 3h by feet, and random by bus.

  • If it works like the washing machine in Gattaca, there is a neat risk that it doesn't end well.

I recommand to watch this -now old- movie by the way

  • Sweet sweet oil money.

US oil refineries were created to use cheap Venezuelian oil, it can't use an other source, so now US petro oligarchy wants to secure its monopoly.

  • A cat spawning from a bush made me fall from my bike once, I guess I would have paid more attention with a sign like that
