Yeah, I was wondering how much of the original staff was left. I know a lot of them splintered into 3 or 4 different companies. It looks like the "true" successor will be SUMMER ETERNAL but there are a few others that look promising.
Just bought a Lenovo Legion Go S Z1. Haven't had a new "console" since my brother in law gave me his old Xbox One, and before that the last one I bought with my own money was a 360. About to catch up on all the games I missed out on.
Always worked backbreaking, dog shit, minimum wage jobs my whole life. Customer service or food service, or manual labor. Always put up with backstabbing co-workers, feudal lord wannabe managers, know-nothing ass bosses. Lucked into a remote job a few years ago making more than I've ever made. Finally got health insurance and was able to get massive amounts of work on my teeth done and doctor checkups. Able to actually exist without thinking about money or survival constantly.
I don't do shit. Was informed today I'm getting a $1k bonus for going "above and beyond".
All this shit makes me wanna cry, be angry, mourn for what a futile fucking exercise it all was in my teens and 20's. All this bullshit I put up with. Literally digging in the trash for food because I couldn't afford to eat, dropping all the way down to 115lbs and the only clothing that would fit me was literal children clothing. Putting up with abuse from managers and customers, having anxiety attacks due to stressful work situations. All that shit to be rewarded with $1k as a bonus at a job where I sit on my ass and go "Nothing on my end" on Teams once a week. Money that would have literally changed my life's trajectory a decade ago. Man. Every year I'm alive fills me with more conviction for my beliefs. I'm still that same kid from a decade ago. Two decades ago. Still angry. The money hasn't lessened it, it's made it brighter. Everybody should have the luxury of what I'm afforded now. No one should have to put up with this system's bullshit.
Sorry for sincereposting. Just posting this here because..i don't know why tbh. Maybe other folks have found themselves in a similar situation.
it makes intuitive sense to me that a bullshit machine would be good at assisting one in navigating bullshit procedural situations.
The most use I've had from a chatbot/LLM is in generating attorney speak and some official-looking documents to send to a debt collection agency to get out of a past-due debt that I owed. Was surprised at how easy it was.
Finally getting deep into a playthrough of Disco Elysium. Really enjoying this time around moreso than I did the last time I tried playing it. On Day 4. Pretty much playing it non-stop until I finish it.
Even the shittiest bottom of the barrel coffee like Cafe Bustelo is now $10 for a 10oz tin. Used to buy it at the dollar store years ago because it was maybe $2 for a 12oz brick. Especially sucks if you like good roasted coffee beans. We're talking nearly $20 for a 12oz bag now. I've just been buying staples like sugar/coffee/rice in huge bulks now like a fucking survivalist prepper or something because it's cheaper and limits me having to go out in public
The only way I survived my 20s was by working at a grocery store and stealing 90% of my food. Wasn't paid enough to afford anything other than ramen or beans and rice so I'd have to steal everything. Luckily I worked in a pizza/deli area so I could at least have a hot meal once a day.
Got our first computer in I think '96? At first my mom put age restrictions on my browsing but I figured out her password and logged on and changed my access rights. I think the first three websites I tried (after I figured out there was more to the internet than just AOL) was either mtv.com, disney, or nickelodeon's website. I used to spend a lot of time playing games on there, back when sites like that had games on them.
Can't tell if you're joking but vegetarian food absolutely is easy to make. We're not talking about some intricate eggplant or okra dish. Just a simple beans and rice with some fixings. It doesn't have to be complicated. There's a small franchise called Whole Bowl that is based out of Portland with about a dozen locations throughout the US. It has bowls of various sizes with a base of black beans and brown rice and it's simple to make and their most expensive bowl with everything on it is like $9.
You could argue "just make it at home if it's that simple" and yeah that's a good point, but when you're out and about and hungry, it's convenient, filling, cheap, and doesn't leave you feeling like shit. Not sure why saying vegetarian food is easy elicited that kinda response tho but alright
That was gonna be my guess. I've seen chuds fawn over Nier Automata and I'm just thinking, this game has some very blatant themes that are the antithesis to chud thought. I guess chuds think like:
Woman bad > Unless they are fuckable and I can goon to them > But if they have any kind of agency or thought that's bad > But booba
I bet they still have impossible burgers, nobody ever orders those. I had one when they first introduced them and it was ice cold, like they took the patty straight out the freezer and put it on a bun lmao
Like alright yeah I get it
Kinda wild in this hellscape that there aren't any dedicated vegetarian fast food restaurants. I feel like they gotta know that these would make money, yeah? Vegetarian food is easy as shit to make and you could upcharge the shit out of it.
Qin and 389 provided good suggestions. Both judo and bjj are excellent options. Practical and low risk of injury if you aren't planning on competing. There is still some risk, especially early on as your body learns to adapt to the movements and you learn how to breakfall and roll correctly. I tweaked my knee the first week trying to stay upright when my partner was pulling my body. I instinctively tried staying upright but you're supposed to go with the movement. Don't let that scare you though. If it's an option, try to find a bjj gym that incorporates judo, so that way you can learn takedowns and how to properly fall if someone catches you by surprise. Either option is a really solid defense strategy and lots of fun. I am partial to bjj because I do it and had a few misconceptions beforehand that were quickly shattered when a lot of my preconceived notions about what the martial art looked like and what type of people go to these classes was flipped after seeing it firsthand. Yes, there are a lot of chuds in these fields, especially bjj, but you just have to be selective when looking at gyms. I find most chuds gravitate towards Gracie Bara gyms (they also have weird rules other gyms don't) and 10th planet gyms (lots of Joe Rogan chuds and then you get to have the endless debate of gi vs no gi), but again, these probably vary from place to place. Just check out the prospective gym's website, do a free trial and check the vibe you get from the students and the teachers. I picked my gym based upon the fact that: they did both judo and bjj, everyone was smiling instead of trying to look tough, and they had a trans flag proudly displayed and no weird chud shit.
But basically, yeah, if there's judo available take that. If not, do bjj. If you find a bjj gym that does both, definitely do that. Hit me up if you have any questions.
Edit:
Some more advice to help you narrow down your decision.
If you do decide to do bjj, look out for these red flags: Avoid gyms that make you pay for belt promotions. Avoid gyms that force you to compete. Avoid gyms that don't have women in the classes. Avoid gyms with contracts.
6am bjj classes are so much better, man. Like 3 other dudes there, all in their 40s. Nobody is trying to crank your neck or ankle or whatever and just tryna learn before work. Also waking up at 4am and just chilling while everyone is still asleep is so peaceful.
