  • I managed to go alone to a trans event that I didnt know anyone at. Wow I hate going to events alone I do not function well alone in loose social situations in rooms I've never been before, but how else are you suppose to meet people and not go alone next time...

  • Started sending job applications. It's kind of hard to figure out what I'm good at, especially since it's almost impossible to find local golang programming jobs, and the tech job market is kinda weird right now. And then theres the whole "being visibly trans at a new workplace"-set of worries! Would also be nice if they could reply to my applications.

  • Decided that I rather be visibly trans than hide my fem looks at home. However, I kinda hate standing out among others, which is already impossible not to do when Im 2 meters tall, even more so when I dont pass and likely never will.

    Any tips on gaining the confidence to continue, and getting into the mindset of not caring what others think? My local area is not that dangerous, but also not 100% friendly, which makes me over think this a lot.

  • A step in the right direction for me has been to block and unsubscribe from anything negative on reddit, and then only use something like redReader which doesnt have the same addictive feed that the official app and website use.

  • Happened to a friend. His teacher had problems with the class room pc and he knew a quick cmd line fix so he asked if he could help. Teacher started screaming that he was hacking the pc, took him to the principal and called his parents.

    Fortunally everyone could see how stupid it was, and he promised his parents to not offer his help again...

  • Same, but I guess if you have a idea you want to build then using a language you are already comfortable with makes it a lot smoother than learning one that could be a better fit.
