  • I don't know of any difference, but maybe I'm just not familiarised with the term differences. I always thought it was just an abbreviation of MLM. You're correct though. There are Maoist Third Worldists, MLMs, MLs who are favourable to some of Mao's ideas (like me), the list goes on. Like most things in life, there's a spectrum in Maoist ideology.

  • There are some Maoists (MLM, Mao Zedong Thought, whatever they prefer to call themselves) who are very similar to what I described, but in my experience most of them are pretty chill.

  • Trots are for the most part just there to counter leftist arguments. Like Jones Manoel said a few times: "Trotskyism is far inferior to Trotsky".

At least in my country, Trots are mostly just sectarian and dividing forces in the "radical left", let's call it that. There are some decent folk like in any organisation/party, but Trot parties are mostly interested in being correct rather than pushing the movement forward, gathering political power, organising people, and so on. Actual Trotskyists (I mainly refrain from using the term Trotskyite as it's mainly used to punch them down), that is, people who read Trotsky's works, actually follow some of his ideas and such, have a lot of potential in organising people. Sectarian leftcom Trots, in the other hand, are just reactionaries with a coat of red paint. Just ignore them and refute their arguments not with debate - cause they won't really care to listen - but with action, anti-sectarianism, political unity (at least I defend that until the revolution succeeds, your "flavour" of Marxism doesn't really matter as long as you're not dogmatic/sectarian)

Sorry if my comment was not structured well. I wrote this during a 30min trip back home.

  • it'd actually look sick. better than 爱 (love) or some stuff like that

if I lose some weight I might do this too

  • I know! That's why I said it's not a completely clear comparison.

You're in all posts yogthos lol you're a blessing to lemmygrad

  • It's always funny to me when people argue for monopolies. The healthiest (capitalist) economies are the ones with the most regulation against them, but when convenience outweighs price and quality, it's just "nice" to people lol

A nice parallel would be Netflix killing major internet piracy. I still got my free stuff, it's just that most people didn't anymore. Ironically piracy is making a comeback now due to convenience not being the focus anymore, with all the different streaming services.

  • I do not have much to add to your great arguments, comrade. Just wanted to thank you for taking the time to reply. Cheers from Brazil!

  • That's what I think as well. I don't think GabeN is a leftist or anything, and even if he was he'd still be a capitalist (like you said: pricing, salaries etc). Valve makes some cool things like Proton and some other open source projects, but in the end it's for profit yada yada we all know capitalism.

I still think there's much to improve even with private corporate structures, but for that we'd need a revolution, armed struggle, etc to make such improvements mandatory and such like China and Vietnam do. I might just be too optimistic though.

Thank you for your time, comrade.
