    There just isn’t the political will to fix healthcare. And then some people act surprised when their CEO gets gunned down in the street.

    MIT license is more permissive than other open source licenses. That’s intentional. The authors want anyone to use their code anyway they like—open, closed, whatever.

  • In my experience, they work for what they’re intended—to keep traffic at, or close to, the posted speed limit. A 3 mile stretch that I drive regularly has two cameras. It’s a straight stretch that people would fly down before the cameras. Now, people noticeably stay close to the limit.

  • This is, essentially, a subsidy for the restaurant and other service industries. Taxpayers are now subsidizing the labor costs of waiters and other jobs that get paid primarily in tips.

    I’d love to see service workers get paid a comfortable living wage. This is not the way to get there.

  • Yeah, I get the feeling that some people with an ADHD diagnosis (or self-diagnosis) try to explain everything as a symptom of ADHD. Creates a lot of noise in this community, unfortunately.
