I think like others have pointed out, it kinda needs to be paired with a hybrid electric motor so you get that instant start and just enough time for the gas engine to kick in. My next car will be electric but I only drive like 4k miles a year so it will be a good long time before I get anything new. My 2016 Jeep is still not at 40k miles. It will be interesting (and I look forward) to going from a six speed manual transmission to full electric.
I’m not a fan of auto start and stop but I think it’s because I am older. I never owned a reliable car before 2003 so it’s pretty ingrained in my head that when the engine unexpectedly shuts off, it may not start again. I think it’s a trauma response to owning pieces of shit for a decent chunk of my life.
Then what am I supposed to do with all this mud and bananas I have laying around???? Copper costs money, I’m selling all mine and rewiring my house from Cat6e to BananaMud 10g.
I get your point, I use pocket squares to accessorize but to each their own. My mental association of ties revolves around IBM staff (and similar) being forced to wear ties for no reason other than “management decision”. For me the only thing I can think of when I see a tie is the leash of the wealthy class.
That’s a small moving target at variable ranges which he hits with rifle rounds. I couldn’t do that if I had all day to try. Forget new Gepard tanks, just give this guy a six pack and let him knock out drones all day.
Reminds me I need to replay the first one. Hopefully they get it running on Steam Deck as that is how I played the last one. My guess is 2-4 weeks after release they will get a working version on the deck.
Until the AI results can be trusted, I don’t see how this happens. I’ve been using AI for some questions that would normally be on stackoverflow but I don’t find code generation to save me time. Because I can’t implicitly trust the product, I still have to review the code before I can use it. If I have to review and understand it, it rarely saves me time. There have been edge cases where it helped me in some areas, like turning a CSV into a visual report in PDF format but I still had to review everything. It just happens that I suck as report tools so it was a shorter amount of time for me to review the AI report than to put together visualizations myself.
Could it have been from Lemmy? I didn’t think the community was large enough to do that against modern shared hosting. Maybe it was also posted to Reddit or something. It’s also timing out for me.
Maybe browser devs will take this opportunity to start working towards memory optimizations. That’s where the majority of my memory goes and that includes Electron apps.
I don’t know what this is but it looks good. Can you describe the flavor? I’d like to try it if it’s anything like Vindaloo or Marsala.
