  • Yep, the Undying Lands over here.

  • Secret identity of Corn Man, who wears a suit powered by ethanol?

  • Not a furry, but thicc.horse is a crazy good instance name.

  • A year ago. It took about 9 months to find something which was a good value proposition beyond just being a home to live in, and my wife wasn't ready to move before that.

  • Just as a real example, 70-80k/year is very feasible in the Philadelphia area. I saved up around 90k across a decade (with a worse income...) and bought a place for slightly over 350k. The thing is you NEED that initial down payment amount to make those numbers work, PMI with less than a conventionally mortgage down payment is a debt trap. Most people aren't financially literate, and people with large amounts of capital take advantage of that in the lending and real estate industries.

If you can settle or pool resources this all gets easier, and if you have disabilities or make poor financial decisions it becomes impossible and you rent trap yourself. Renting still makes more sense for people with jobs that move around, though.

  • The problem is that he did, in that moment, and then media and people walked it back and minimized it for 3.5 years until by the time everyone voted again, well, he didn't go to prison so maybe they made it up or it wasn't so bad? See also: his felonies were "political".

Truth is that most Americans are so busy living or surviving that they don't go learn or seek out different views to become more well-rounded. Propaganda works.

  • Rawstory sensationalizes small bits of real info, constantly. He'll probably pop up tomorrow.

  • Looking online, it's up to around 50 cents an ounce, personally I'm drinking cafe El Morro, it was around 2.50 for a 10 oz brick, but it's a lot cheaper if you order direct now with price increases. Also it's pretty good coffee.

  • Sorry to hear that. It has the potential to not be a high stress job, but obviously everyone is different. Just responding to the constraints that were presented, though.

  • I totally agree. Only mentioned the connection because that might be the motivation OP had to look into this or make this post.

Regarding Stephen Miller, though, or more broadly any child of people who undergo traumatic events, suffering often begets more suffering. That's why we have so many quips like "hurt people hurt people". It may be that his views are a rebellion against his family's for one reason or another.

Also nothing changes that he's a piece of shit, but y'know.

  • Read through as well, it does seem like OP is wrong. Can't assume all anti-Communists are Nazis, and the records that do exist don't put him in suspicious places for the timeline. I can understand the desire to make connections to explain his son's views, though.

  • In this case, the hierarchy you've submitted to is the employer's, rather than the boss. You can have successful hierarchies that promote good management, too. Not very common, though.

  • I got curious and looked for an explanation, apparently ducks are illegal goods in The Far Side. The wolves are even snorting quack.

  • Just a heads up about the biblically accurate angels meme, the word for eyes also translates to lights. It's more fun to pretend that it's eyes but they were just describing their DBZ auras.

  • The Danes, or the Angles, or the Saxons? Or the Romans? Or the ...

  • I'd imagine you can run some kind of custom script to disable or reassign the key, similar to what ahk does.

  • Sounds like an Irish postal code
