  • I wonder...

  • I think love here means falling in love, in an erotic way. The broad term "love" complicates communication sometimes.

  • Most people are not really rational, though, so the blackmail would still work very well.

  • I'd love to see him do more standup one day. I say this as a citizen of a nation whose president went from writing theatre pieces to being persecuted and imprisoned to being a president and back to writing theatre pieces.

  • This happens to women too. The embarrasement is real and the societal pressure to not be seen as a slut is everpresent. Playing it safe is a popular strategy no matter the gender.

  • This doesn't seem like a good argument. More research into renewable and storage technology can also lead to interesting discoveries useful in other fields.

  • But there are many more car accidents, so the cities are taken out anyway, but one family at a time.

  • I agree. Incidentally, they did use "males" for "men", so they were derogatory to both sexes equally.

  • They're cursing the wrong sex part, not the being born part. Let's curse the fact they were not given to us in the form they prefer - they deserve our cursing support!

  • It does seem reasonable to define an intelligent person as someone who can see that "the line goes up" ideology is bullshit.

  • Wtf? What's wrong with Slovenia? It's a perfectly civilized European country in a beautiful part of the continent. Why should it be a shame to have lower life expectancy than them?

And if I was given a choice of cutting my clitoris or living a bit shorter but with my clit intact, I'd chose keeping my clit - I'm not sure you got the "what life has to offer" thing quite right.

I kinda get what you mean and the US has a lot of deep problems, but there are definitely better ways of illustrating it.

  • Showing empathy is a valuable contribution.

  • Usually not craving children, though.

  • The second option, I'd say.

  • Not just comments, negative things in general. I think in my case it's connected to a hereditary predisposition to depression and anxiety. The bad stuff makes a large impact and the good stuf just doesn't seem to produce any neural pathways. It's physiological. Some of my family got much better with modern antidepresants. I went a different way and I'm ok now as well, it took decades though.

  • I have this trait irl. It's good to know about it and even better to try to regulate it, because it makes life seem so much worse than it really is. I can see there are people who don't have it this way and who just forget all the bad stuff almost immediately - must be nice.

  • The jerks don't have a point if they say you're fake and pretending you're younger than you really are, as OP mentioned elsewhere. There's no reason to introspect if these are the accusations.

  • This can happen and it feels terrible. On the other hand, I find it quite nice that there were several people there ready to defend you and the hater got downvoted into oblivion. You're not alone and you're being loved.
