  • This post is like catnip to Lemmy users.

  • Adding on to this.

If you don't know what a command does you can read the manual running the "man" command. Run "man" followed by the command you want to read about. It also works for some system files too!

Also if you fix something like a driver issue for a game that took a lot of research. WRITE IT DOWN. It WILL come in handy in the future.

  • Defects don't manifest themselves immediately after they roll off the assembly line. They cause premature systemic failures after a number of years of operations. These aircraft should last 20-30 years before failure.

No I will not give you a source. I think it was a verge article.

  • You have heard of :wq, but have you heard of ZZ

  • Pearl Harbor

I guess it's like Pearl Harbor if you pretend you haven't been at war with Ukraine for 4 years. And if Pearl Harbor successfully destroyed any of the 3 aircraft carrier targets (each carrying 80-90 aircraft each). And if there were no enemy combatants killed (citation needed?).

  • No time currently for a nice ELI5, but if you also need a solution now

  • Authorities said that while they had granted permission to film at the sites, they had not permitted for-profit use. A MrBeast representative denied some of the accusations.

I would be surprised if this holds up in court. MrBeast (1) clearly was making a for-profit video because that's his whole job and (2) promotional segments of the video were not filmed on site. There should be vetting on filming applicants so I would wonder why this was allowed at all in the first place.

Mexico's Secretary of Culture Claudia Curiel de Icaza said on Thursday that, although they had authorised the permit for MrBeast to film, they had never authorised the publication of false information or the use of heritage site images for trademark advertising.

Was that explicitly stated in the filming permit (or written into law)? If so, MrBeast's legal team fucked up.

  • Obviously guilty. So obviously guilty we can save some taxpayer money by skipping the whole due process thing.
