You are likely scanning my profile and history because I said something in a tone that made you feel funny or angry. This is called being reactionary. You can overcome it.

  • The only chance of something actually "changing" is if enough people are disgusted by the Republican party in the midterms where we elect a new set of representatives, that Democrats win super-majority and introduce articles of impeachment and can get it to pass, in which case we get treated to months of circus-like trials where the president may get removed, or more likely would resign for "health reasons" before that could conclude.

The chances of this are slim because the democrat party has the same donors as the republican party, whatever happens is most likely going to be the will of many corporation's speculative ideas of what kind of outcome and administration will keep their board of investors happy.

It's more likely going to a slim turn towards Dem control, not enough to do anything but preserve some semblance of status-quo. If it's either Vance or Trump in power, neither will have the political capital to pass bills or get anything done through house and senate. They will be "lame ducks" almost guaranteed at this point. When "President Newsom" takes the Iron Throne in 2028, he will roll back some of the performative nonsense but keep everything that actually benefited corporations and the Trumpified America will settle in as the new standard, until some new giant, evil clown takes center stage in another ten years and starts the swing right all over again, this time even more hardline and authoritarian.

The system isn't being upheld at the highest levels because politicians feel like the average American voter feels disconnected from politics. So this means the Epstein files could have 4k video of Trump doing the acts people accuse him of and it won't matter. Whatever happens from here on out, unless there's a massive social disruption that hurts a lot of people in some way, physically or economically, there will be no consequence broadly. Maybe some mid-level stooges will go through some show-trials.

Trump may also just fukkin die at any moment, that's not nothing.

  • Also, he's going to be a hispanic white nationalist.

  • Our imagination: a borderless world of small, self-governed regions which have no need for armies or national security because everyone depends on everyone else.

The reality: Roving warbands, a constantly shifting map as cities burn. Almost instantaneous reestablishment of large alliances for security.

  • Okay, but what exactly are we trying to get to? Ya'll think there's frosting and gummy bears down there? Ancient pirate treasure? Mole people to establish trade with?

There's no sharp cutoff point, at a certain point the crushing hot rock that flows like bread dough starts to flow more like syrup, then just down for thousands more miles of more heat and more pressure.

  • Speedrunning being hated and excluded by the people you will desperately need support and timely information from.

  • It’s a win win for him unless he was worse than trump.

From what we're seeing so far, I don't think anyone was worse than Trump except maybe Epstein himself. There is some shit being leaked that made me genuinely sick to my stomach, and I'm a grown-ass man who's been on the internet since it started.

Bill is most likely guilty of some bad shit, and should face prosecution or at least public shame, but he also knows that when we see what Trump was really up to, we won't even care about Bill's excursions.

  • the muscles or the breath?

  • e216

Because of this comment, I learned that e216.com is for sale for around 3k USD. Holy carp, when did obscure, meaningless domain names get so expensive.

(It's e621 . com that puts canine dicks on everything, including cats, most definitely NSFW)

  • We are entering the Yo-ho-ho times like no other period of information-age history prior.

  • I'd be fine with if that's all it was, I can respect people who maintain tradition for whatever reason. It wouldn't be important to me, but I get logically how tradition maintains community bonds. That's fine, we have a lot of ethnic and religious traditions that various groups follow and they don't impose it on anyone.

But Christmas most definitely does not promote Christianity, it promotes some kind of heinous, bastardized version of modern Christianity that's completely about meaningless product consumption, decoration and ritual without meaning.

Will growing up learning to string electric lights on a slowly-dying pine tree turn a kid Christian? Most likely not... but he is sure going to learn that when he gets his own apartment (as required in modern capitalist single-family living) he will spend that money on his own dying pine tree and string of electric lights.

  • I'm beginning to think this Trump fellow was up to no good at some point.

I fully expect a legal review to be brought against him and all the proper procedures to be followed.

  • WTF is happening with the world

I think it's the internet. Overexposure of information and stimulus about every conceivable issue, billions of voices and opinions and stray, intrusive thoughts fed directly into our eyeballs 24/7. It's making people broadly lose track of reality or not really understand what's actually important anymore.

This has had the effect of allowing the worst voices to gain power because those voices get shared more, both out of pushback and condemnation as well as support from niche groups.

Basically the information age is destabilizing society, the last couple decades have accelerated this process as capitalism has hijacked the entire system to algorithm advertising directly into your skull, so now attention spans are monetized and as a result, are being shortened further and further by competing forces.

And it's been seen over and over in history that times of uncertainty and destabilization often come with a broad retreat from the social contract and a breed a large-scale attraction to authoritarianism and selfish motivations. Likely a survival response buried deep inside us as a way to survive famine and hard times.

Don't worry, one way or another, it will end.

  • I knew exactly one BMW driver in my life, he was a marketing firm executive, looked like a character from Better Call Saul. I was in charge of marketing for a small company that I lied to about my qualifications and ended up a VP of marketing, so this guy comes roaring up one day and parks across two spaces in his BMW convertable, cigar in mouth, aviator shades, cheap suit and loud tie, he just always wanted to "make things happen."

Absolute cartoon character. I have to say I kind of loved every interaction, it was like a recurring character on a sitcom.

Anyway, about all I remember was him complaining how hard it was to get the thing serviced and the wheels alone set him back the cost of another car.

I hated marketing, but I also hated the unemployment that followed when the housing market bubble burst and suddenly nobody had money anymore.

  • All I know is:

"You're gonna love Hytale bro, it's gonna be great bro, just wait bro, seriously, JUST WAIT!" - Everyone, every year since twenty fucking fifteen.

I don't know what I'm supposed to do with any of this information, I kinda lost investment. If the game is ever done, great I will try it. If not, I won't be at all surprised.

  • The BMW-driver stereotypes are real too.

  • I swear someone sends me this every year. I'll wait and see kiddo.
