  • For good chinese Manhua, take a look at Ancient Sovereign of Eternity (aka Ultimate of All Ages), possibly the best ever Xianxia/Cultivation story in comic format. Magic (or Demon) Emperor is also great. And Martial Peak is good for the first 2000 or so chapters. Chinese comedy stuff tends to be fairly good as well, like Top Tier Providence.

Also, Solo Leveling is typical op MC done as cliched as possible, just the art style that's quite good, although a bit overdone these days. Everybody is trying to copy Redice's art right now. Koreans have crafted some amazing wuxia manhwas though: Gosu, Legend of the Northern Blade, and Red Storm are examples of amazing completed works in the martial arts murim genre.

  • It's a great idea, sadly the EQ gameplay does not interest me at all, but I'm all in for the idea of fake players in a single player/small coop only "FMMORPG". I'd love it if people tried to do this with every multiplayer game before sunsetting them.

  • Billionaires are a systematic risk*.

  • I'm super excited for this game. The demo they had on a previous steam next fest was phenomenal, great writing and voice acting.

  • Earth days... In a planet where the rotation is not the same as on Earth.

  • Felt well written as well, I loved talking to the other guy. I'm chill though, but it's definitely a game I intend to buy and play as soon as it's out.

  • Same! I've been parroting this same discourse ever since the first season aired. It's not even good science fiction, it's just all exaggerated to invoke fear, it bears no resemblance to a real world and future, and it doesn't reflect on it. It's a glorified dystopian tv mindless drama. It doesn't make you question and think about things, it just always defaults to: "this bad, really bad".

  • Because of the early 2000's movie Minority Report that has this exact same plot and is starred by Tom Cruise.

  • Hardly ever I come across a person more self centered and a bigger fan of virtue signaling as you. You ignored literally everything we said, and your alternative was just "sms". Even to the point of saying that the other commenter should stop talking to their 47 friends and family members.

  • Lots of people. I need it because it's how my clients at work prefer to communicate with me, also how all my family members and friends communicate.

  • Yes, there are. You just have to live in one of the many many countries in the world where the overwhelming majority of the population uses whatsapp as their communication app. Like my country. Where not only friends and family, but also businesses and government entities use WhatsApp as their messaging app. I have at least a couple hundred reasons to use WhatsApp, including all my friends, all my family members, and all my clients at work. Do I like it? Not really. Do I have a choice? No. Just like I don't have a choice on not using gmail, because that's the email provider that the company I work for decided to go with.

  • Right?! It's literally just a messenger, honestly, all I expect from it is that it's an easy and reliable way of sending messages to my contacts. Anything else is questionable.

  • I love the Chinese book "Unsheathed" (or Sword of Coming), it's a high fantasy (xianxia) novel with great writing. However, the English translation is not yet finished, currently around book 6 of 11 (which is about more than 4000 pages of writing). It's a story about a contryside orphan boy living in a small village starting to realize that the stories of gods, dragons, and immortals he heard about in folk tales and legends are actually all true, and that the world beyong the village is magical and fantastical in many ways.

  • Which you can't without AI.

  • Oh, that's quite cheap! I was afraid it was going to be one of those "cool indie tech" products that costs hundreds of dollars and makes no sense for the consumer except as a cool gimmick. If they can make them a bit cheaper through mass production, this might actually be an alternative.

  • This is cool, but how much was it?

  • Proceeds to have a melt down for the next few moments considering how time must be a lie.

  • Well, it is really old news from a game that launched in 2015, but the summary of it is a feature that allows enemies in the game to remember you, and evolve with the player. You killed an Orc chieftain, his right-hand orc is now the chieftain, and thanks you for clearing the way for him. Lost a battle to a miserable orc archer? Next time he sees you he jokes to your face and tells you how shit you are. It is a great system, but it was patented.
