  • I got a speeding ticket a year ago, and they included a link to a video of me going too fast through an intersection. In my case, I was between two other cars, and because I was unfamiliar with the camera, I was the only one that didn't tap on their brakes while going through. Regardless, the video was clear evidence against me, so I paid it.

    In short, I think they've gotten much better since your experience. It at least felt fair.

  • I don't have any experience with making mods, but I did use a chunk-editing program once. I flew around in creative until I found an area I liked (kind of a valley, with a huge semicircle of mountains on one side, and ocean on the other). I then used the editor to delete a few hundred chunks in a radius around the circle. My objective was to have a finite area to explore around in, so that my incessant terraforming would have an end point. I don't know if that's your objective as well, but it's an option.

    I'd highly recommend Distant Horizons to be able to see the whole thing at all times, without relying on render distance 😎

  • Coastal area checking in, same thing for the tsunami alarms. I had some good fun with a tourist when, after they asked what the droning sound was, I replied with "Oh, it's just the tsunami alarm" and then didn't react to it. They were visibly nervous, so I waited a sec and then said "It's just a test 😁"
