You ever get into a fight in real life? Or have anything like this happen to you where someone tries to attack you? It's often awkward. It isn't the movies. People haven't trained for fifteen years with a sensei before attacking someone else at a public event. The awkwardness is a sign that it's real instead of that it is staged. And you never know exactly how you'll behave during something like this until it happens.
