  • My Iranian friend was talking to me about the Internet blackouts. I mentioned the ham radio thing.

He told me I would be hung by the regime, but only after being severely tortured for at least a week first.

  • Hell, json is 6 years off at this point. XML is 1 year off. Soap? Years off still... Like no formal web based apis existed.

Man - I'd hit up geocities or something.

  • I'm just arguing here - but dot matrix was mostly irrelevant at that point. Inkjet, bubblejet, and laser jet existed.

  • I think there's only some instances you can legally do it in Canada. I think in the transportation and health care sector it's possible.

  • Really - as someone has moved to a "windows shop" for work... Alot of windows admins have no idea what's going on. But they're not even capable of pulling logs (who I'm working with - not everyone).

It's all seems to be voodoo and vibes.

  • We all have to play by these damn rules.

These silicon valley fuckers are getting away with what would get a library shut down. Or you and I jailed on a peer to peer network. The only difference is they're making a way bigger profit to put you out of a job.

  • If you get ahold of them, I need to tell them why they're wrong because of this one time I watched star trek while I was baked.

  • That's when you start playing checkers with quarters tape to each piece.

  • Oh, this jet is going to have more bugs than a rainforest. It will be hilarious and compromising.

  • There's some talk somewhere else yesterday about how PC/laptop sales are tanking. It's mostly because people don't want "AI" computer.

Out of all the things in the past 20 years I miss - it was my netbook. It was amazing in college for me too.

Some say tablets killed the netbook, but there have been so many failed tablets that are not "iPad." It's a real gap in form factor and need

  • Might as well - they won't read them anyways.

  • The only thing I'll point out here is the urban heat island. It's a waste of space to put solar farms in viable farmland.

Then on top of that, you get to park your car I'm the shade (electric or gas). Even if you're "anti green technology" - why would you be against having a shady place to park your car?
