  • Building a laser pointer device starting with just the laser emitting device and a couple of lead wires.

    I need to decide how I'm going to wire in a charging element and a battery, and then I need to build a housing for it all.

    (The housing isn't directly related to electrical current, but it's related to the project as a whole.)

    For example, /mounts/mountname

    After creating the mount point name, setting the permissions correctly, and updating fstab, it should start to show up as a fixed drive.

  • It's going to be more work than you think. An old stereo like that is also going to need new capacitors. (Worn capacitors can also cause many issues.) So, you'll need soldering skill.

    First, you'll want to look up the service manual. That'll tell you about the various parts and components inside.

    Cleaning potentiometers isn't hard. But if one or more of them is deteriorating from wear - not just dirty - they'll need to be replaced, and that also requires soldering.
