    You have to understand most of these devs don't give a shit (in a based kind of way. fuck work) At the same time it comes to a detriment because they will use code gens so they don't have to do any work. and then it bites you in the ass because you're the one reviewing.

  • Yep, it's funny about the levels of "whiteness" you can be.

    I'm not white and when I told this to some Ethiopian & Somalian school friends growing up they told me "well, you're not black".

    What I meant to say is: White people don't treat me as though I'm white. Which is really the important detail.

    It's also very interesting to have people try to decode my race/origin. Some people have guessed middle eastern, french?, Italian, First Nations.

    This is why I said I've noticed that some people put a lot of emphasis on your race (so they ask you) and it is important to then for how they perceive you.

    This is important to Americans because they use race as a baseline for how to treat you.

    This is why the lady in question is Mexican to Americans before being an American.

  • I had this issue where a game wouldn't launch at all and there weren't any useful logs. I don't know how to use wine to launch the game without steam so I didn't do that. I stead I pretty much reinstalled kernel and dependencies. I don't know what went wrong or how that fixed it but it did.

    I think it had something to do with drivers.

  • Every morning on my way to work I see people juggling in all sorts of ways. Personally the most weird and socially acceptable way is to jog downtown. Downtown is terrible for jogging, dangerous drug addicts (no offense, just not the safest people to be around), dangerous drivers. an entire landscape built around cars, anxious and pissed of drivers trying to find their way out of the traffic hell hole the city created.

  • Fine, I'll give this strategy a shot too: Linux is crap because when I switch USB audio interface with a switcher the audio becomes extremely borked likely because of buffer settings somehow changing, to me it feels like the buffer is too small and then all these audio crackling issues start propping up.

    Windows doesn't have this issue whatsoever, it's only when I switch back to Linux in the switcher that the audio is borked.
