  • So glad we'll be protected from those scary "side-loaded" apps right? Just download your malware directly from the store instead!

Site to view nearby cameras. This isnt even close to a complete list and it's still too many.

  • Acton also stopped short of criticizing DeWine's decision to send Ohio National Guard troops to Washington D.C. at the behest of President Donald Trump. Acton said she is not sure whether the decision was appropriate.

Say what you want, but that probably wont inspire confidence in any kind of left base. Specially in ohio.

  • Indeed. Which is why I've likened it to a weirdly modern underground railroad.

Knowing how to navigate at least my town and id say roughly 20 miles of radius around where i live without hitting any is a skill i have, i just hope it won't be useful.

But yes, keep an eye out for poles with small solar panels, or black cameras on the BACK of stoplight arms. Keep in mind most of these cameras have to be at eye level or just above to get a clear shot of as many licenses as possible.

A brief scenario where someone tailgating you may be a good thing lol.

  • Saved me from posting the link to deflock myself. Nice work!

I wonder if the ai will notice that the only camera i hit is the one right outside my job and nowhere else even though my town is positively flooded with them.

  • Yep! I've learned some common backroad bypasses for this reason. Modern day underground railroad type shit.

  • Deflock.me

When i saw there was no way to get into the lowes parking lot near me without passing one, i stopped going to lowes.

  • Ill do you one extra even. One of our customers, a lawfirm, has asked we remove AI from their environment over privacy concerns. We, as their IT, are still trying to push and sell licenses to our other customers and even use it ourselves.

All against the wishes of the actual workers themselves in my company. The execs and sales team is pushing it so hard and ignoring that a literal law firm is super against it.

Surely this will turn out well. I let that customer know that we're still pushing AI, and management is very pro AI still. It might be a good idea to look for a different IT provider if that goes against your values.

  • Locking out, clearly.

  • The fun trick with this is when the HoA defends themselves there's usually a clause that allows them to charge folks within the HoA to pay for legal bills, aka you.

So you have to pay for the HoA to defend itself against you filing a lawsuit about how it is violating your laws. While also paying for your side of the lawsuit too.

(This is of course all depending on the nature of what youre filing for and specifically who it is against, but it's just another example of why HoA's are useless profit generation for those that run the HoA. Specially if its a mega-corp owned HoA like Sentry)

  • All current "working and marketable" linux phones are built on top of android currently for compatibility with that existing market, so it depends how detached from android you want to be. (To my knowledge. Id love to be proven wrong)

    If completely, then no.

Better bet is an android OS that has everything ripped out of it and privacy hardened. Its the same thing the linux phone is doing but without the linux portion sitting on top.

Otherwise you can attempt to use a pure linux setup but it's going to be rough unless youre already set on dropping creature comforts.

  • Yeppp. Try to go get groceries or go visit a friend or go to work without passing by one. You'll quickly realize it becomes a game of which angle and backroads do i have to take to get there.

Modern day underground railroad type stuff but with license cameras.

  • Love doing this with modern atlus games. Cant wait to buy the "royal golden reloaded remaster collection" edition for $20 from a used/third party retailer.

  • To wield or to use. Either is fine with me!

  • 20 years will do that.

  • Nope!

Amusingly there is a very large overlap in the companies that want to try to force ai tech crap onto their workers, but dont limit admin controls for users.

But to be more specific, what i meant by work-controlled is that you cant just install linux on a work machine or uninstall office products for alternatives due to company licensing.

Nothing preventing you from just not using that crap though of course but at that point you know your own company limits than i would so god speed!

Last thing you'd probably want to do is be forced into sitting in a class with Mr.MiddleManager / Mr.NepotismHire to go over why these AI products are actually good for you and they arent happy you circumvented that.

  • Ah you are indeed correct. I'm probably thinking of classic paint, not notepad.

Either way, i have the downloader for ye old notepad and paint tucked away on and off my machine for future sake when my company middle management decides they want to try to push the new AI tools down our throats for productivity again.

  • Yep precisely this.

Notepad is where stuff i dont care about 5minutes from now goes to die.

Notepad++ is stuff ill probably take to my grave, or at least til next week.
