  • Robocop, corporate ownership of major infrastructure, militant authoritarian police force.

  • We have always been at war with Eastasia.

  • Socialism, communism, whatever other utopian ideologies, require that people be invested and actively participating in it. The way wealth stops being funneled to the top is that people are invested (and informed enough) to stop it from happening. How that would happen in a practical sense would depend entirely on how these ideologies were implemented. Anyone who tells you it's all just very simple and easy would be lying to you. The main factor would be active participation by the vast majority of the populace. Without that, any attempts would be doomed to failure.

  • Socialism and communism have a lot more in common than communism and what the soviets (and those they inspired) did.

  • As long as they're cooperative, sure.

  • Yes, but there's more people who just don't care. In the last Presidential election if all possible votes were counted... no one would have won, because the largest amount of voters chose to just not show up. Part of that is willful disenfranchisement by those who gained by that statistic... but a significant part of that is that they just don't care. They think the situation would be the exact same no matter who was in charge. At least as far as it concerns them.

That is the biggest issue with our current system, though obviously not the only one.

  • Futurama did it as well as a specific counter to Global Warming.

  • It was also four rooms. So closer to $500/room/night.

So really, not all that absurd a price, especially in a major metro area during a major event.

  • Every 18 hours.

  • They're not necessarily happy, just not as angry as they look. Their neutral face just looks angry, grumpy, or otherwise in a negative state that isnt an accurate accounting of their current feelings.

  • More like toddlers, cause they're cats, but yes.

  • If Spielberg hadn't convinced George to do everything himself, just imagine what kinds of stories we could have had...

  • Apparently they've discovered drop crocodiles now.

  • You can make good quality shows on a shoestring budget if you really want to. Even something fantasy/science fiction themed. It's more about intent and ability than it is budget. Plenty of high-budget productions still look like shit.

  • So... don't be like you then?
