  • Might be able to add context here. Company I work for started looking after few different project ideas when it passed. What we found was the version that passed left how the program would work undecided. Essentially requiring the EPA and other agencies to digest the text and establish process and procedures to apply and qualify.

    A project I've been working on nearly 2 years only finally got some good news back in March. It took federal agencies that long to decide who/what/when/where/how you're able to tap into these funds. Thankfully my team and I made the case it was a project worth doing regardless of if the government ever gives us the tax breaks. Which we might get enough back on doing to immediately replicate the project at more locations.

  • I don't know why anyone would think that of Boeing. They did fuck all for space until acquiring McDonnell Douglas and parts of Rockwell in like 1997. Then they spun most of that off into ULA with Lockheed precisely because they didn't know what to do with it. Lockheed people have even run ULA for it's entire existence.

    The part of Boeing behind Starliner isn't all that old. It's certainly younger and seemingly less talented than ULA.

    The same people complaining that other carmakers can't match China's pricing would be just as mad if say GM did what BYD is doing to have that pricing. First step is kiss the UAW goodbye. Second step is have Congress give GM $30 billion to make EVs. We'd all be rightfully pissed off at that.

  • That's funny because I saw some initial comments made which then started this discussion. And what you're suggesting was the intent. The issue as they (one of Lemmy's developers) said was essentially frustration that their echo chamber had been pierced.
