  • They also refused to use the standard voice over LTE and refuse to let any thing that they didn't sell try to connect to their voice over LTE even if it's compatible. Leaving restricted Apple from enabling voice over LTE for iPhones not from Australia even though it's just a software update that you need that doesn't run on the firmware level.

  • The ic package Apple was using was supposed to be deprecated but Apple kept using it. The 12GB module that fits the same pin array was about 50 cents cheaper last year when the M3 launched. That could be since Apple bought all the packages or it could just be Apple scamming people. The package you need for 16 GB of RAM was also less than $5 more than the 8GB

  • Standard markup is about 100% on electronics from the bom cost, but things on a closed ecosystem that are supposed to make their money back in software and service licensing or normally so close to the cost. On something like a game console you are looking at a 10 to 15% mark up at retail. The wholesale price is very close to the bill of materials. The only company that really sticks out is Nintendo who sells at a 15 to 20% markup wholesale and then never lowers the price.

The really insulting thing about how Apple does it is the they add a 500 to 1000% mark up for storage ram upgrades. They even kept using 8 GB on the MacBooks when it was cheaper to run 12 or 16 GB ram ICS for the package size they were using.

  • I think California is the only state that is a current initiative to ban prison slavery. It's on the ballot this November and it's important that we vote for it.

  • They have to have graphics feature parody. So if you have Ray Tracy on the x you have to put it on the s, if you have complex shadows are lighting on the s you also have to put it on the x.

  • Then ruins oleds too. Oled need giant heat sinks to work properly, but they've been being very thin and having plastic bags so they can look sleek. It's especially obnoxious because full array LCDs and uniform thickness OLED are much thinner than the protruding bulge that comes out on most super thin TVs.

  • Not including the wheel well the Isuzu should be about 47 in. The F-150 is about 42. Including the wheel well it's like 50 on the Isuzu and 52 on the F-150. The Isuzu will have more usable bed space and the wheel wells don't go up very far so they're pretty usable going like 2 inches up.

  • They are popular since they cost less than non internet version. This is them removing the internet/subscription version that they were tricking people with.

  • Nestle didn't really do shit. They did steal water from a lake but it wasn't very much. This is related to wonderful creating a fake water board to steal all the water from under a town. Then when they were getting enough water from the town they made a scheme to pool water from the aquifer to store it underground for later drug use but they didn't store anything they just took it from the aquifer while they were still pumping way too much water from underground.

  • I'm in California and it was on by default. To comply with California rolls anyone in the US who resides in California can be covered even though it's not their billing address. So enabling anything like that by default or not prompting to have permission for cookies or selling data is in violation for anyone who does business in California. The gdpr rules also apply to anyone who's in EU citizen or resident even if they're outside of the EU so since T-Mobile does business in both they need to comply.

  • They do but not this T-Mobile. It's in violation of California's privacy rules to be opted in by default for something like this.

  • Trucks are commercial vehicles. People driving commercial vehicles should be professionals and we should have required a commercial class c license for all light duty pickup trucks or SUVs. Anything that gets an emissions credit so they can have lower MPG for being a commercial vehicle should also be classed as a commercial vehicle for licensing purposes.

  • And clocked at under half the low power mode frequency the chip was designed fornwhen used in tablets and handheld devices.

  • The socket has big reductions in ram and pcie signal integrity. If you don't plan to change the CPU and motherboard separately soldering it would save money and the store could do it for you when you order both together.

  • This is about RAM on the package not RAM on the die. It honestly makes no sense why we don't have CPUs and RAM soldered to the motherboard right next to the CPU package. I love being able to change the stuff myself, but any reasonable repair shop could be doing that for you and we can have much higher performance than we currently have. It's not like there's really many viable options anyways. AMD has what four good CPUs intel has like two, and there's two good ram ICS.
