  • Obviously. I mean, even when AI could not do fingers (and today they are mostly fine), you could simply recreate the picture until you had something usable.

Having a picture like this and the over the top "negative/positive points" is done deliberately.

  • Why don't the Democrats try to impeach him over this? I know it won't pass with the Republicans in charge, but at least it would show that they tried to make things right.

They should try it and try to get Republicans to vote against Trump - I know it won't work, but at least they should be forced to publicly show their colors as minions of a dictator.

There should be a impeachment trial for each and every time that traitor breaks the law. It's the least they could do.

  • Trampling on the soul of America? Someone hasn't paid attention to American foreign policy... America was often on the wrong side of history. This is just the latest, and in my opinion one of the worst, tragedies supported by the US.

  • He was flushing down evidence. Discriminating papers and the like.

And because he is a toddler incapable of distinguishing between himself and other people he thinks this is a general problem.

  • What we need is a police force of negotiators and social workers.

A police officer should only get a job after a mandatory time spent as a social worker and a expensive study of law and peaceful conflict resolving.

Before that: no weapons and no authority.

Also accountability: every bullet and every taser use has to be explained. Cams 24/7 on the job, disabling them should be a grounds for immediate expulsion.

Oh and of course, cops should no longer be above the law.

I think this would also scare away a lot of the people who become police officers for the wrong reasons.

Yes, I believe it could be possible to have good cops - it's just not possible under the current system. Hell, the current system is a deterrent to good cops.

  • And they bought Paintshop pro and destroyed it

  • Saying you heard of it but don't even try it and then brag on social media about it is different than trying it and then deciding it's not worth it/more trouble than it's worth.

Do I see it as detrimental to education? Definitely, especially since teachers are not prepared for it.

  • I don't get how so many people carry their computer illiteracy as a badge of honor.

    Chatgpt is useful.

Is it as useful as Tech Evangelists praise it to be? No. Not yet - and perhaps never will be.

But I sure do love to let it write my mails to people who I don't care for, but who I don't want to anger by sending my default 3 word replies.

It's a tool to save time. Use it or pay with your time if you willfully ignore it.

  • How the hell are we supposed to install it without a Internet connection? I worked in a company that was so hard on security that only certified machines were allowed access to the net, so virtual machines were not allowed to access the LAN and therefore the Internet. Generally not a problem as we just used them to test software on different OS versions, so no Internet required.

This change disallows all offline installs. What is their gain? Are they that keen on our data or are they planning to use the connection to a Microsoft account for something even worse than just selling personal information? I could think of a few reasons and none are nice...

  • Reminds me of this joke:

Two worker see their boss arrive in a fancy car. The older worker sees the envy in his younger colleges eyes and says "You like the car? Well, if you really put in the time - you know, really work hard and do a lot of overtime - for a few years? Just work yourself to the bone. And that might just be enough... for him to buy another."

  • Didn't he already get a side chick? I vaguely remember something like that...

  • The batteries analogy in the Matrix was bad and originally it was that the machines used humans as bio-computers, which makes a lot more sense.

  • AI has its uses: I would love to read AI written books in fantasy games (instead of the 4 page books we currently have) or talk to a AI in the next RPG game, hell it might even make better random generated quests and such things.

You know, places where hallucinations don't matter.

AI as a search engine only makes sense when/if they ever find a way to avoid hallucinations.

  • You can understand Peterson better if you remember that he is very Christian. If you believe that God personally looks out for humanity, how could climate change be happening?

  • They must really hate that dealerships insurance company. I don't think that even registeres with Elon.

To hurt them you have to strike closer to home.

  • Tech could make our life easier, if only the fruits of increased efficiency would go towards us all instead of the few rich people at the top.

  • Ha! That was one of the things I did in the Sims (don't remember which version). Ended up dating the mail(wo)man.

  • Power corrupts. It's human nature to test out the limits of what you are allowed to do. No limits? Then the only limit is your conscience, if you have one.

  • Yeah, I've got one maybe two of that list. FML
