I'm gonna give a spread of recommendations from different genres, hopefully one of these might be something you like:
Signalis (if you can get past the anti-communist undertones)
Barotrauma (requires some mates to get the most out of this one)
World of Horror (most of the scares in this come from body horror, it's heavily inspired by Junji Ito's artstyle so ymmv depending on whether you've read and enjoyed any of his manga)
Iron Lung (the past coupla years have been good ones for aquatic horror IDK why)
There was a film I'd wanted to rewatch, 'cos I'd seen it ages ago and liked it but the plot was a blur to me now and I'd forgotten the name.
Earlier this week, I accidentally stumbled into a review of it, so now I've torrented it and I gave it a watch.
If I get the peace and quiet to watch another film this weekend I'm gonna finally get 'round to watching Videodrome.
Oh and now that it's lovely and cool and wet outside, I'll be able to take the dog on a nice long hike. He couldn't cope with the heat this summer and is too afraid of the dark to go on proper night-time walks, so he hasn't gotten anywhere near the exercise he usually has and I intend to make up for that.
I only found out after I beat the Last Judge, but there's actually a bench right next to the fight.
If you find enough fleas to complete the wish the caravan leader gives you when you first meet them, they move to the room before the last judge and you can rest there.
Back in my teens I was a self professed tankie
(I'm closer to an anarchocommunist nowadays but I still get called a tankie a lot by clueless libs), saw people on Reddit complaining that r/chapotraphouse was fulla tankies, got excited about finding a forum for people with similar political views, looked inside, it was mostly Bernie Sanders stans or whatever. Still, I hung around 'cos it was the least cringe part of Reddit. Saw those libs get radicalised in real time.
My account got nuked for some reason around the time the subreddit was.
Around the time the Chapochat launched I saw a Reddit post warning libs that the spectre of chapo still haunted the internet, so I went to have a look-see.
Refilling my hormone prescription at the pharmacy and the dispensing chemist asked me step into the consultation room.
I was worried there'd been some sort of fuck up somewhere and I was gonna have to spend all day making phone calls to this or that NHS ward because the WGS, the local gender team, and my local GP had started arguing over who's managing my hormones. Again.
Turns out she just wanted to ask what my preferred pronouns were.
It feels a lot more generous with the timing and with the airtime you get with it. Plus you do a cute little flip now when you bounce so there's a lot more visual feedback that you're doing it right.
Encounters with basic enemies are way harder than Hollow Knight, but I've found the platforming to be more fun and engaging. Especially after unlocking a move set that has a simpler downwards strike.
You keep dying to the gay hole revenant? Go git gud, you casual. Bet you didn't even solo Bayle the Dread using only a mouldy piece of bread either.
Just grab urgent heal + frenzied flame seal to kill them in two casts. You don't even need to invest any levels in faith with that setup since every class starts above the minimum requirements.
