الموت لأمريكا!

الموت لإسرائيل!

يا عمال العالم، اتحدوا!

  • Really good advice. Thanks.

  • i haven't thought about that to be honest. Reading the articles, it was just as if the nukes were somehow magically developed when Ukraine became "independent". Good point. Another thing I wanted to say, but couldn't as it would trigger a defense mechanism making them even more ignorant than they already are, is that Ukraine, Russia, and 13 other were never even states to begin with. Reading sources, almost every single one had the narrative of x gaining independence from the USSR as if before the USSR there were multiple states. Another aspect of this is when non-marxist people and scholars discuss a region in the USSR, they talk about it as if its some kind of occupied entity not as if it's a region of the USSR like for example Beijing is city in The PRC, which is the actual case.

  • Haha, thanks. Really appreciate that. I was aiming to actually teach something, so I'm glad I did even though it wasn't necessarily as planned .

  • Let's say you want to have a photo for a project and you couldn't find a stock or previous drawing and you don't know how to draw, then sure, generate it using a self-hosted libre generator. At first, I came out defensive, but I read Artisanal Intelligence recommended by m532 and it change my perspective. I still feel truly attached to human art, but I'm not against the generators if they're still self-hostable and libre.

  • Alright, thanks.

  • Are you aware of piefed instances? I don't know the instances there or why someone would even use it over lemmy.

  • I was unaware. I assumed that if I can see them, they can see me, which is obviously stupid especially since I'm familiar with the fediverse. Other than .world and blahaj, what other communities have defederated from us, hexbear, and .ml?

  • How? By "generate me a picture of x"? Nothing about that is creative. It simply undermines the centuries old tradition of putting hard work and most importantly emotion to make a masterpiece. Those tools will never be able to achieve that. Instead, the undermine the already unappreciated artists that put their emotions into pieces that can make people stare in aw. You can argue how automation in a socialist society can be used to better people's lives, but you can never argue that automating such a creative process so fundamental to human expression that it has been used since we were cave men is not a bad thing, let alone a good thing to "increase creativity" no matter what economic system present.

  • Hello comrade. My goal would be a group of informed marxists while still being inclusive for non radicals, but that would be delusional in my area and my age group, so I'm looking to making you average inclusive marxist study group made to educate ourselves, read collectively, discuss about the book, and of course, like you mentioned, discuss our personal lives, geopolitics, and the global marxist struggle. Lebanon lacks these study groups and the youth need to be introduces to marxism in a capitalist imperialist world. A more personal aspect is I lack comrades, so this way, I can help make ones, or find ones though I doubt it. I'm following https://unity-struggle-unity.org/wp-content/uploads/2023/05/Study-Group-Interior-Pocketbook.pdf, which I saw linked on the prolewiki. I'll definitely try to keep weekly updates and document to guide other radicals getting organised in their respected schools. "Give me just one generation of youth, and I'll transform the whole world" -Vladimir Lennin

  • Will do. Thanks for the help

  • Alright, thanks. While I did check out the guide to organizing study group pamphlet at first, it opened an introduction(ish) and an "about the author" section, so I got confused, but I just saw the pdf link that was right in front of me in the first place

  • I meant more irl. Online, it's easy to find such groups as the internet is a means of connecting people on an international level. Irl I'm stuck to a more local level, and while I might be able to get 1,2, or maximum of 3 close friends to join, I don't see a way of expansion especially in an increasingly reactionary social media, which usually results in teens leaning right. By the way, what do you mean by AES? At first in another post you responded to, I thought you meant advanced encryption standard, but that isn't related to this.

  • I edited the original comment right after you posted yours.

  • Really nice overview. Just curious why would anyone complain about AES? Also, could you clarify on how you use all 3 depending on your mood? This will help me more understand the unique communities in each of the 3 instances mentioned. Also, something I would like to add is that I've noticed is dbzer0's stance on "generative ai" is questionable. I'm all up for copyleft, but the issue isn't just with copyright. I feel like the greater issue with "generative ai" is the replacing of actual creativity and human emotion that would be normally tied to the different art forms that "generative ai" is usually made to replace whether on purpose or not, so I expect slop coming out of their.

  • Haha, you admit to be a totalitarian tankie

  • It's a joke

  • The Lebanese Phalanges Party is a far-right Lebanese party inspired by the European fascist and fascist-style youth movements.

The party, alongside its allies, committed horrific tragedies against humanity. I'm a Lebanese Marxist-Lenninist with a strong understanding of my country's history , so I will try to explain them.

They committed the Black Saturday massacre of 1975, fueling the Lebanese sectarian divide during and after the civil war in Lebanon by dozens to hundreds in response to the assassination of party leader and founder Pierre Gemayel.

They committed the Karantina massacre of January 1976, attacking the Karantine district of East Beirut and specifically killed Palestinians and Muslims. Estimates vary from hundreds to several-hundred killed.

Following the Karantine massacre, on January 1976, they massacred civilians in the coastal town of Damour, killing an estimated 500-1000 and displacing many, known as the Damour massacre.

In Augast of the same year, they seized the Tel al-Zaatar Palestinian refugee camp, tragically murdering thousands.

In June 1978, Tony Frangieh (former president's son) was killed alongside many of his family.

Finally, there is the well-known Sabra and Shatila massacre of 16–18 September 1982, which doesn't need an introduction. Another thing to note: the revolutionary Marxists of Lebanon, including Goerge Ibrahim Abdallah (https://yewtu.be/watch?v=aqJhFmjCs8k), were of the defenders of Sabra and Shatila. Foreign imperialist "peace-makers", including France and The United States claimed they will defend the camps, but we all know how that turned out. Like how the UN withdraw from Rwanda following Belgian imperialist commands, they allowed crimes against humanity to happen and did nothing to try to stop it.

While many stop there, that is not the end of it. Many more horrors were committed against Palestinians refugees.

After the civil war, "temporary" sectarian divisions were placed for "peace". The sectarian divisions still remain, the government is as corrupt as a government can be, and Lebanon is in ruins. Instead of solving injustices, the government is now concerned with disarming the party that has defended Lebanon from invasion since 1982.

  • but what about the authoritarian totalitarian stalinist maoist lenninist marxist cultural-marxist collectivized red bureaucratic planned economy KGB censored thought police speech police communist socialist surveillance slave police state dictatorship regime?
