I know but it’s walmart. The attendant is handling 30+ self checkouts and I’m not waiting 10 minutes.

I’ve walked out of Walmart before over wrong prices. I was just there to look at the camping section and see if they had any deals. There was a cooler on sale for 10$. I go scan it. 30$. I just left it there at the self checkout and went home.

It’s so annoying. I’ll scan something big and the computer is OUT LOUD saying at me “BAG YOUR ITEM” like NO! I DONT WANT TO!

Self Checkouts are not even self checkout anymore. You go up and scan your stuff then 2 times out of 3 someone has to come over and approve that you scanned everything. At that point just open the normal lanes back up

Well I think there could also be a place for like niche curators. Like a blog that goes and finds all the strategy games that are actually good and posts reviews of them. If your a fan of that type of game you follow them, they try all the shitty ones so you don’t have to, and point you to the good ones. Same with other niche things.

Well I do have a blur thing on here. I edited Noctalia to remove the rounded corners. I like them sharp for this theme. It fits the fallout vibe more imo. Will have to try Umbriel out at some point but I’m pretty happy with the result I got from this theme for now.
does it have an overview?

I think we’re reaching a point where there is going to be so much stuff around be it games, tv, movies, music, etc all made by AI and all just garbage, that it will make curating a huge deal. Like we’ll need to have services whose sole purpose is to sift through the marketplaces and find quality stuff to then present to people. So you’ll have a two tiered system where on one hand you can browse “everything” and it’s just a deluge of stuff and then on the other hand you can go to a curated marketplace that only lists stuff that is known to be high quality. But it’s going to take time for those curated places to pop up, and in the mean time we are gonna be swimming in slop.
Well niri is actually perfect for me because I am a gesture user. All my navigation is done with mousepad gestures.
Oh god. That’s atrocious lol.

I"m not new to the threadiverse this is just a new acct. Don’t participate in the instance war stuff. Don’t care for it. But you do you none of my business.

lol was not expecting to see my post posted by someone else so quick. I was planning to crosspost it later so people from different time zones might see. Guess I was too slow lmao.

You laugh but id rather talk to a robot than a cop anyday lol

Gonna buy one of these and install it into my toilet bowl and drop hot steamers on it so Amazon can watch.

Yeah, I’m a bit obsessed with New Vegas. I even made my own Radio New Vegas I can listen to on this lol. https://whiplashpost.substack.com/p/guide-bringing-mr-new-vegas-to-life?r=9c0sfd

Oh also I have a mouse cursor theme that is the Fallout New Vegas cursor, but it’s currently falling back to my old purple one for text. That’s why you see that in the terminal. I’m trying to find a text one that fits better to put in there. The main pointer looks like this:
Not sure if blasphemous or enlightened but I run Debian stable with niri built from source lol. I moved over from Gnome recently and its actually pretty nice. It’s like Debian Stable “The Remix”

I don’t restart enough to be too worried about it:

i can put my laptop into suspend and lose maybe 2% of battery per day at most. So hibernation seems a bit unnecessary. Maybe if your RAM is less efficient or something? Idk.
